Looking at that last photo of he and Deb makes me remember Hugh saying he wanted to look like De Niro did when he took off his shirt in Cape Fear; that he wanted that reaction of complete shock from the audience. Well...I think he's definitely gone beyond that when you compare him to how De Niro looked in that movie.

If I had given it any thought I would have probably thought of that myself...the scifi part of me would have taken over as it was, I was thinking baseball more than thinking about the name 51 so I just did a quick reply without thinking. Pretty cool now that I know, even if they are the Mets! Sue

Just watched Deb co-host The View. She looked terrific. Wish she would have been more vocal, as I think she had something to contribute to the hot topics portion.

My thoughts on today's episode of The View, which I taped. Ever since I read here that Deb would be on, I didn't think it was a very good idea. I watch it occasionally, IF they are interviewing someone interesting. Sometimes I start watching it but just have to stop the tape or switch channels, because the way they deal with "hot topics" (even the more serious ones) is just too frivolous and careless. I think that today, unfortunately, from the very first moment they were at each others throats and particularly argumentative. As usual, they interrupted, contradicted and talked over each other rudely, then left comments unfinished to go to commercial. It gives me the impression they just throw out outrageous comments to get talked about in other media. Deb with her wonderful, but FINER sense of humor, tactfulness, politeness and much DEEPER thoughts is simply too classy for that type of show. Jenny McCarthy mud-slinging is more their style and fits right in. It would have been a much better chance for people to get acquainted with Deb if she had been a GUEST, and had been interviewed about the wonderful pro-adoption work she does. But she would have to publish a book or be in a movie in order to be a guest. Whenever they addressed her today, it was just to comment on her hunky husband. The audience (there or on TV) who has never listened to her, was left with the impression that she has little to say. It's exactly the opposite, but that environment is not conductive to intelligent conversation, much less attentive listening, specially by the other hosts. I was not surprised, I was disappointed. BUT NOT BY DEB. On a lighter tone, did anyone watch the Kevin Bacon interview on Monday? I can't access the episode online down here, but watch his feet when he's being interviewed. Reminded me of our Hugh during the Marie Show!!! Alma Attachments:

Actually I thought deb was good on the show the other hosts acted as stupid as usual. I can't believe I used to love tht show I am just getting tired of Whoopy with her fat clothes and joy and her loud mouth and barbara trying to take over. And u r right they never finished a subject but I thought Deb was. Lady

I agree that Deb was not given a chance to be herslelf - she was mostly spoken to as hunky Hugh's wife and the remard that Barbara Walters made was, IMO, very inappropriate considering the recent incident at the gym. I saw Deb's expression about that and also when she tried to enter a conversation topic, but was out shouted by the loud and rude manners of the group. She did try to bring up her fight for better adoption laws in Australia, but was cut off by one of the many commercial breaks. IMO it was a complete waste of her time to have been there.
