It looks like Hugh will not be wearing the Wolverine cowl/mask most of the time!

There is now a raging debate about the mask/cowl - on "X".
Lol!
Some want the cowl most of the time because it completes the look of Wolverine.
Many favor showing Hugh without the mask most of the time because you can see the varied expressions on his face... and with Hugh being an excellent actor, they say it makes his portrayal even more memorable.
What I wonder about -- how does Deadpool breathe well if he has that closed-off mask all the time??
Never mind the million-dollar pay, if you cannot breathe too well! Lol - I resented mask-wearing for health reasons because I always found it hard to breathe especially if you wear the N-95 type!

Some criticize Hugh Jackman for taking on another Wolverine role in Deadpool&Wolverine after LOGAN.
I have responded on "X" to some of this criticsm --

I have an interesting example.
One of my favorite musicals is Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects of Love. That was where I first saw Michael Ball ( original Marius in LesMiserables) perform the role of Alex. His opening number was the hit sone "Love Changes Everything".
I saw the show both in London (1989) and on Broadway ( 1990?).
Thirty-five years later, the show has been revived in London. Michael Ball is still in it...but now playing the role of the Uncle which is one of the 4 key roles ( and has many beautiful songs).
But because the song "Love Changes Everything" has always been identified with Michael Ball, the show was revised to let him sing it...and then later on in a duet with the young actor now portraying his role before! It's Michael and the song... but now under different circumstances.
I would have loved to have seen it -- and because circumstances have changed, I would not have minded the change in roles so much! But seeing an artist try on another role with some touches to the original role seems another gift to me!
We loved Hugh Jackman in LOGAN... but I am not sentimental about him reappearing in another look at the character.

I think many are simply reiterating what some had articulated before - herd mentatility.
All three were known not to have been as richly compensating as his Wolverine roles...but Hugh made his choice knowing the implications on his artistic pursuits. He has done rare comedies
*Kate & Leopold - romcom *Eddie The Eagle - biopic *Bad Education - biopic with criminal notes *Deadpool&Wolverine - maybe comedic superhero adventure
There may be other motivations, but as he has always said, he is always motivated when presented with " a road not taken"

It is in Wolverine's character that he is economical with language and has a deadpan face - remember XMen 2 when asked about his occupation?
But I am excited to see how Hugh will deliver comedy in his own manner -- we saw it at first when Deadpool pointed the barrel of the gun at him... and actually put his forehead forward to the gun barrel! LOL!
And let us not forget how Hugh's left eyebrow has acting talent on its own, including comedy.

Empire/People/TotalFilm must have made a killing with their issues with DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE as their cover story! Jo

Interestingly, I find this image of Wolverine as more representative of the individualistic mutant than when he was first represented by HJ in the first XMen movie! Jo
