Why are Jackman fan art pieces always focused on Valjean, the Convict?
It's really how he lived his life after his convict days that is the essence of how a simple man who became someone caring of others (Fantine, Cosette, Marius, the poor people of the place where he was Le Maire whom he took care of, etc) and who by example converted someone to what is morally right ( Javert)?
Why not as the father of Cosette? Why not the caring human being for another (Fantine)? Why not Valjean as a revolutionary? Why not as the aged Valjean?
He also had 2 epiphanies - the first one was the theme of redemption...and the second one that of discovery of love. These are dwelt at length in key passages in Victor Hugo's book.
The role has such a wide character arc!
