From Seoul where he attended the press conference for THE WOLVERINE ( July 15), he is due in London for the world premiere on July 16. Of course, when he flies from Seoul to London he gains maybe almost half a day -- but how does he do it??

He is due in San Diego for the ComicCon on July 20...and he has a date with fans on Times Square on July 23. Not sure if there is a Hollywood premiere ( it would be surprising not to have one) - but maybe around the time of the ComicCon??

Hugh Jackman is scaling back on his own stunts after a scare while filming The Wolverine.



HUGH Jackman has revealed he is cutting back on his movie stunts after a terrifying accident on the set of his new superhero blockbuster The Wolverine.

The Aussie star feared he had broken his neck during a daring scene in which his character swings out of a train carriage.

Jackman's injuries weren't severe, but the incident was enough to scare his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, who made him reassess the amount of dangerous work he does on set in future.

"In the film, there's a scene where I swing from inside to outside a train and my neck got caught. I thought I had broken it.

"It was one of those moments when my wife looked at me and said, 'What are you doing? Enough playing in the schoolyard! You are not invincible!'"

Jackman says he is now smarter about using a stunt double.

The 44-year-old hunk also revealed in a recent interview with GQ magazine that his famous Adamantium claws are just as dangerous in real life as they appear on screen.

"They've cut deep more than once. And not just me", he said of Wolverine's weaponry.

The Oscar-nominated actor also revealed that Robert Downey Jr reached out to him for diet tips after landing the lead role in Iron Man.

Jackman famously bulks up for his role as Wolverine and Downey Jr was keen to take advice on how to improve his physique.

"He knew I wasn't in shape before it [Wolverine], so there's a little bit of that [sharing that goes on between actors].''

Between the dangers of performing own stunts and the probable unhealthy impact of his yoyo gym work- and- diet regimen for Wolverine movies ( he has said in another article that the threat of a heart attack has crossed his mind), I hope Hugh is rethinking how he can continue to do action movies without too much risks.

I adore Wolverine but I think Hugh should really think about retiring him. There's too much risk involved. Maybe Deb can knock some sense into him.

I agree, Jo and Alicia. It's anyone's guess as to how much of this extreme diet and exercise regimen his body can tolerate, especially since he seems driven to outdo his previous level of fitness each time. It's a cause for concern, but I'm pretty sure Deb won't be shy about letting him know when it's time to back off a bit.

First ‘The Wolverine’ screening results in positive reviews

The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman, has a release date set for July 26, and now we have some first reactions to some footage which was shown to a few chosen critics.

Back in March we saw the first trailer for The Wolverine, which showed Hugh Jackman back with his adamantium claws and loads of Japanese backdrops.

The most recent trailer revealed additional footage from the film which was shown during CinemaCon. We got some great looks at the “robotic” Silver Samurai when he faces off with Wolverine.

Today we have the first reactions of the film, from a few critics which appear to have seen about 15-20 minutes of footage from The Wolverine.

A few key critics were able to view the footage and were later allowed to reveal details and they were also told that they could give their opinion on what they saw during the sneak peek. Check out what they said:

JoBlo’s Andrew Hegele was fairly positive, saying, “After viewing the first fifteen minutes of THE WOLVERINE as well as the train action set piece you’ll recognize from the trailers, I feel pretty comfortable saying this movie is shaping up to be the most promising installment to the universe since X-MEN 2.”

Jim Vejvoda from IGN says, “Overall, The Wolverine had a more subdued tone than any of Logan’s past screen exploits. Jackman is damn near silent throughout the entire first half of Act One, and the austere, grim vibe of the piece is reminiscent of the solemnity of the 1980s Chris Claremont/Frank Miller comic book storyline upon which the film is based. Even though we’ve only seen a small potion of the final film, that alone was already leagues better than either X-Men Origins: Wolverine or X-Men: The Last Stand.”

Steve (Frosty) Weintraub from Collider says that, “From what I saw, it looks like Mangold has nailed the character and the action, and Hugh Jackman looked like he was finally part of a Wolverine movie that will showcase the true character. Consider me sold.”

It’s great to hear that early signs show James Mangold’s The Wolverine appears to be shaping up nicely, despite the previous installment being crushed by fans and critics alike.

Fans have been a bit skeptical since the first The Wolverine trailer landed due to the fact that Logan appears to gradually lose his powers throughout the film, but the footage we’re seeing definitely gives us some hope for this film.

Hugh Jackman has definitely kept his end of the deal, as he continues to impress us physically, and director James Mangold (Identity, Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma) continues to impress with his striking use of Japanese culture in contrast with Wolverine’s typical X-Men locations.

The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Brian Tee, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto and Svetlana Khodchenkova has a release date set for July 26.

The Australian actor made his grand entrance in a sporty white Audi Spyder, accompanied by his wife Deborra-Lee Furness as he pulled up to the Empire cinema in Leicester Square.

Hundreds of fans waited up to 12 hours in the sweltering heat, with some coming from as far as Australia and Austria, to catch a glimpse of him...

In one of the Red Carpet interviews, Hugh was asked about the prospects of the X-FORCE as part of a widened XMEN universe. He said he didn't know or even heard what it was all about. Hmmm... I wonder if he will consider another Wolverine role if it happens in the future?
