And is this his costume as Wolverine --  Certainly less colorful or fashion-forward compared to Yukio ( with her touches of red)  I am hoping to see Hugh in a kimono - with collar open to the waist ! |

Have you read the source material ( aka graphic novel aka comic book) ?
It is hard to say because in most scenes, he is usually wearing his famous Wolverine costume ( sometimes with a mask), clothes for cold weather ( like a jacket) or a Japanese kimono.
In the scenes with Yukio, he is wearing his Wolvie costume or a jacket.
But I think they have adapted the script for a more cinematic look - so it is hard to tell.

Hugh's black suit is probably not today-modern ( look at the pants) so I assume the setting of the story is maybe two decades or even longer earlier. Although Viper's boot-shoes seem out of place -- I think they are very much the fashion these days? But she looks good with them Jo |

A fan shares a photo of Hugh and his leading lady, Tao, who plays Mariko.  I am not surprised that they can recreate a Tokyo setting with some areas in Sydney ( Parramata) -- Tokyo is so modern-looking that one would think one got lost in the most modern part of Manhattan. I was quite disappointed as I was expecting something more exotic - LOL! Jo |

Have you noticed something about the color palette for this XMEN movie?
*Hugh in mostly black with a more modern hairstyle (with his natural dark brown hair)
*Tao ( Mariko) also in black, with black hair
*Rila (Yukio) in charcoal grey with strong slashes of red ( costume and hairstyle)
*Svetlana ( Viper) in glamorous black with something mettalic - but blonde hair
Maybe that will all contrast very beautifully with some exotic scenery from the Japan filming?
