Hugh is appearing on Marie Osmond's talk show on the Hallmark Channel next Monday, March 4, 10 a.m. EST. Ellen Thanks for the update Ellen. I was wondering when it would be on and I didn't even know what channel her show was on, so this is good to know! Sue

I have an iphone and disabled the auto correct. Go to settings and you will find it there. I now correct by clicking on the word and the correct one will come up. I got so frustrated with auto correct. Yes--lots of wierd words got sent before I stopped it.

Update on his Marie Osmond talk show appearance: He'll likely be on in separate segments on three different days, reportedly March 4, 5 and 6. Yet my cable listings originally had him listed for Monday, and then there's no "Marie" show again until Friday morning. But the description of the shows has changed to the generic, without any mention of who the guests are on either day. Maybe it's just my cable system. This bears watching.

(I didn't even know she had a TV show.) While channel surfing just now I saw it listed on the Hallmark channel and thought I'd check it out. I got a rerun of an old Golden Girls episode instead. It's listed in my on-screen guide for 11am (Mountain time) on Monday, with no subsequent shows listed at all. The description is "generic" with no mention of Hugh, or any other guest. If any of you on the east coast find this, please let us westerners know, so we can find it too. Thanks.

I was watching a movie on the Hallmark Channel yesterday, and there were at least 2 commercials with Marie and Hugh clips. It's listed on my cable grid for 10AM tomorrow Pacific Time.

Yes, I saw those commercials too. But they mention only Monday, not subsequent days. I get those same GOLDEN GIRLS or some travel show listings in the MARIE time slot for Tuesday and Wednesday. So I've set my DVR for those times, no matter what program is listed.

Did anyone see the Marie Show? I'll have to catch it on the internet.
Down here I get Montana PBS on Cable (Montana? Go figure), and they will air the "Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert at the O2" next Sunday.
MontanaPBS - 3/10/2013, 8:00 PM (SD, TVG, English) 3 hours, 58 minutes
In October 2010 the legendary musical "Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert at the O2" celebrated its 25th birthday. To mark the occasion, the show's producer Cameron Mackintosh staged an extraordinary one-off concert at the O2 Arena in London. The 25th Anniversary concert hosted a company of over 300 actors and musicians, including Alfie Boe as 'Jean Valjean', Nick Jonas as 'Marius', Norm Lewis as 'Javert', Matt Lucas as 'Thenardier',Lea Salonga as 'Fantine', Jenny Galloway as 'Madame Thenardier', Camilla Kerslake as 'Cosette' and the casts of the Original Production at the Queen's Theatre, the New 25th Anniversary Production at the Barbican, London and members of the Original 1985 London cast.
I won't miss it, but I want to hear your comments already!

I won't miss it, but I want to hear your comments already! Alma Just be forewarned that it is probably for a pledge drive which means they may have some of the show cut. Alfie Boe has a great voice and is good as JVJ. I think he might have had a shot at the movie if he was taller and had some film acting experience...glad he didn't though! ;D Nick Jonas is the worst Marius ever so if they make cuts, cutting him would be a good place to do it. Since you haven't seen the play you'll notice some differences from the movie. The differences were to improve the continuity and flow of the story and to include more bits from the novel, which was wonderful for the movie. IDaD is sung before Fantine has most of her downfall...actually, several songs are moved from their original stage locations but as I said it creates a better flow. It's a wonderful concert. I have the DVD. I hope PBS keeps the ending with the 4 JVJ's singing Bring Him Home. It was fabulous! :-/ Enjoy! I missed the Marie show and haven't been able to find it streaming online anywhere! I'm sure eventually someone will post it somewhere online. Sue

Thank you, Sue! Yes, they do warn you that the program as aired is not the complete DVD, which you can order if you contribute a pledge. I appreciate your comments and look forward to watching it, and I don't mind knowing beforehand it will NOT equal the movie. Nothing can!
Years ago my PBS signal actually came from Thirteen WNET New York. I wish I still received that signal, instead of the one from Montana. I actually pledged once... to get tickets for the first André Rieu concert at Radio City Music Hall. My daughter and I traveled up there for that one, and for sight-seeing of course. We also saw The Lion King and Hairspray. Hugh was not on Broadway. It was May 2006, I think. I just LOVE André Rieu concerts. I've got several DVDs and CDs. They never fail to lift my spirits and put a huge smile on my face, every time. If anyone has a chance to watch the DVD for his "Fiesta Mexicana" don't miss it!! It was taped in Mexico City. He also came to Monterrey that same November 2010, and I was able to go!!! :-D
A short time ago during another "pledge weekend" PBS showed a special Phantom of the Opera Anniversary concert with Sarah Brightman as Christine, and Andrew Lloyd Weber taking his bows and speaking a bit at the end. Very, very, VERY enjoyable. I know I will enjoy the 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Miz, simply because the songs are sooooo beautiful, but of course no show could possibly top Hugh's movie, at least not for me.

With each interview Hugh does, it makes me fall in love with him even more...
Hugh truly is almost the ultimate guy, and I REALLY hate putting him, or ANYONE, on such an impossible pedestal, as it is so easy for celebrities to disappoint the general public, but I have SUCH respect for Hugh, it is beyond ridiculous...
I honestly do not know, or can recall, anyone that rates so high with me...
I was so right in falling in love with him back in 2003, Mom fell in love with him back in 2004, and Dad respects Hugh to the point that after Mom's and my 2nd time seeing Hugh in TBFO, right after he won his Tony award, that Dad asked/told Mom and I if he could ever see the show starring the guy who stole our hearts from him... Mom and I just looked at each other and told him that we were going to take him to see TBFO when Dad & I were on vacation that July... Neither of us had even SPOKEN a single word between us, but we KNEW we were taking Dad to go see Hugh...

I don't mean to say that this is not an excellent concert--but could that be my problem? It's a CONCERT. I need to see Hugh! And Russell, Colm, etc. I don't get why the "purists" would not ALSO appreciate the movie all the more. In the movie you are LIVING and FEELING the fate of the character, in beautiful meaningful sets, not just listening to the character tell it, albeit in an excellently belted-out way. I am truly enjoying this concert. All the characters are top notch (no Jonas brother Marius yet . The music is just so SO beautiful. But by now I'm "spoiled", because I feel I saw the BEST first. Mary Magdalene, I must say you've not only come to the right place, but you are in excellent company, hehe! Alma Thanks, Alma! I have been a member of this group for a LONG time, going back to when " The Boy From Oz" was on Broadway, but stopped coming here for a few years, for some strange, unknown reason... But when the new (this) board started, I re-upped my membership, though I really did not post, I lurked. But it was " Les Miserables" that got me posting again... Gretchen

Oops! :-[ Both names are beautiful, Gretchen! I too "lurked" at the old forum for years. I was too shy to post there, but when it closed, I felt so sad, like I'd lost a group of friends. :'( So when this Forum took its place I felt that AT THE VERY LEAST I would let everyone know how much I appreciated "eavesdropping" on their wonderful conversations... I've gotten a little braver recently mostly because everyone is so friendly and including. I stumble through the technical parts all the time, but I'm learning. Slowly, but I'm learning... And yes, for me it was also "Les Miserables" that got me posting so often. Isn't Hugh's movie just... an extraordinary experience? Alma

No problem at all, Alma, and thanks! ;D From " South Pacific," I am going to purposely mis-quote a line from a song, "'There is nothing like our Hugh'"... I have seen " Les Miserables" 3 times in the cinema (as opposed to the theatre/stage), on that glorious big screen, and would LOVE to see it again, so it can tie with the only other movie that I have seen 4 times on the big screen: " Titanic," though I DID see " Titanic 3-D" last April, which would TECHNICALLY be 5 times... I might be able to see it again on Thursday, if my schedule permits... Come on in, the water's fine, and the people here are FANTASTIC!

I am LOVING this concert, even if it is "Hughless". So this is Lea Salonga? Wow, what a voice. One of my first favorite moments so far, to my surprise, has been "Stars". And I am VERY impressed with Samantha's Eponine. I recognized her tiny waist even before I recognized her face. How can she breathe?!? Is it just me or is she more expressive here than in the film? Just LOVING her performance. Of course, 10 Nicks could not make one Eddie, hehe. However, I'm finding these Thenardiers more likeable and even funny (specially the faces HE makes). My first tears came with "One Day More". And then again when Eponine dies. And again with "Drink With Me". Here it comes: "Bring Him Home"... :'( :'( :'( First show-stopper for sure! And yes, the audience agreed with me. Standing O. Alfie Boe, I just "met" you, but I'm liking you more and more by the moment... or by the note! Yes, Sue, it's a GREAT concert! Oh, the clarinet solo, then joined by the harp, for a reprise of "Bring Him Home", with the entire orchestra then joining in... Oooohhhhh... Wow. Who IS this man who plays Javert? :o Even with Nick as Marius, "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" is such a lovely piece. Actually, he wasn't so bad. Valjean's death scene. Now tears come in earnest and my nose is runny, just like in the cinema every single time! They just showed some girls in the audience clapping their hands off, with mascara running down their cheeks. Well, once again, I guess I'm in very good company. Have I mentioned that the bilingual school I grew up in (and where I've taught) staged the Les Mis School Edition this weekend? No, I didn't go see it, but I bet they were SO fired up, with the movie in cinemas all over town for inspiration. In its fourth week, the movie is showing in 21 cinemas. Yeeeeess!!! Here they are, the cast of the original production with Mr. Wilkinson himself!!! Oh. BOTH "Bring Him Home" and "One Day More". Could it get any more superb? Where's that "thud" emoticon? I'm mixed up because they have a different "face" here... Okay, I'll confess: I almost stood up for Messrs. Shönberg, Boublil and Kretzmer. Can anyone understand how I feel? How I hope the young actors (MS/HS) from my Alma Mater get to watch the DVD of this concert right to the end with some schoolchildren joining in. I never posted any message that took three hours to write. But I had to share what I was feeling. If I can eventually fall asleep, I'll have sweet dreams. Good night. Alma

So glad you enjoyed the concert. What did you think of the 4 Valjeans? I agree that Matt Lucas was a better Thenardier than SBC. The original Thenardier Alun Armstrong was very good too, there are some YouTube videos of him that I've seen and he was in the 10th Ann concert. To me SBC was the weak link in the movie. Norm Lewis was 25th Ann. concert Javert and soooooo good. There have been many good Javert performances. The Complete Symphonic Recording had Philip Quast who I enjoyed very much, he was also in the 10th Ann concert and the original was Roger Allam. As for school versions...I have in the past recommended the North Allegheny Senior High School production of Les Miserables to anyone who was interested and posted links all over because it was so good. Sadly the show has been removed from YouTube. The only vestige left is this one video of the girl playing Eponine who was fabulous! youtu.be/x9LztvNwcVQ According to one of the video comments she went on to study voice performance at Carnegie Mellon. This video isn't as good quality as the original production videos, I think it may be fan recorded. The original production on YouTube was done with very high production values and really good audio and video quality. I actually had downloaded it to my computer but a few months ago my computer crashed and I lost everything. I kept the hard drive in hopes that someday I can afford to pay a revovery company to recover my lost data...that included lots of videos and, of course, thousands of Hugh pix! :'( Thanks for sharing your viewing experience with us! I still watch my 25th Ann. Concert DVD. I like most of it better than the 10th. Mainly I wish I could just swap Michael Ball for Nick Jonas. Guess we can't have everything! Sue

Whew, Sue! I find it hard to keep up with all the names you mention! You are so familiar with all these actors/singers. Serves me right for "staying away" from Les Mis for so long because I figured it was too sad? What a mistake! Oh, well, I'm on board now.
I really liked the "way back when" Thenardiers in this concert! They were not the original ones? Were the original couple only on the 10th Anniv Concert? All the Valjeans were fantastic! Alfie Boe just won me over completely.
I just watched the "Eponine" from the North Allegheny Senior High School production. Wow. She was just like a pro! It's good to hear she will continue doing this. Hope she gets a good break, and soon.
Don't give up on your hard drive. I hope it gets less expensive every day and you can recover your lost treasures soon.
Thank you for all the info on this concert!
