Idris Elba is also an unusual favorite. LOL - I don't think Hugh would really consider it seriously, if offered, because it calls for a minimum 2-picture deal. He is just getting out of a long commitment to a franchise! He probably wants to consider different roles ( he is committed to Apostle Paul, for one), maybe with some action scenes, but not an outright action movie. I could be wrong, though But I am excited about his next two movies - his swan song as iconic Wolverine...and a musical biopic! Two sides of a coin Jo

I saw Tom Hiddleston on a talk show recently (Graham Norton) and I think he would be a good choice. I used to want Adrian Paul (The Highlander) as Bond (He would have been perfect!!) but he's too old now (even though he looks great for almost 57) twitter.com/adrianpaul1Nancy

How come we never heard about this supposed past film project by director Guillermo del Toro, with Hugh attached to star? www.slashfilm.com/amazon-pilots-carnival-row/It looks like it will now be a part of a series for AMAZON.COM...with Del Toro still directing but Hugh it seems is no longer with it. It does sound like a gory fantasy story...so, I am not too sorry that Hugh is no longer connected to the project. Of course, Del Toro is one of those director-auteurs who usually earn a lot of artistic praise.

We don't know if the early talks for the lead in THE ODYSSEY bore fruit, but if he did sign up -- there is information on IMDB that there was some update info on the status of the script on March 2, 2016.

A friend alerted me to this twitter rumor! ************************************************************************** EDIT: It looks like Jeff Sneider who posted the public tweet, may be a reliable source. His background is in film reporting and film blogging ( AICN, Variety, The Wrap, and now @mashable). We'll see how this rumor turns out ***************************************************************************** I wonder if he and Patrick Whitesell were discussing this when they met for the UFC205 fights at Madison Square Garden. They seemed to have arrived at about the same time for the event (November 12) and could have had some business meetings before going to MSG? If this is true, and even if is not going to happen soon -- I am going to be over the moon about it! I am a great fan of The Prancing Horse ( the Ferrari symbol) and Hugh in a biopic of the great carmaker ( and early car racer... and founder of the Scuderia Ferrari racing team) is going to be a tremendous project announcement for me! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enzo_Ferrari

per Wikipedia, this is what happened in 1957 --

It looks like it will be full-on drama!

The man was no angel!
This is an Amazon.com editorial summary of the book ENZO FERRARI : THE MAN, THE CARS, THE RACES by Brock Yates --
This is going to be a very interesting portrayal!

I like when HJ plays less than honorable characters; such roles reveal other dimensions to his talents. That's probably why DECEPTION is such a guilty pleasure for me.

I wonder what happened to the rumors about THE ODYSSEY? And are there any developments on APOSTLE PAUL ( IMDB Pro says that the script was recently completed/updated) which is a Warner Bros production? The ENZO FERRARI rumor is personally exciting to me -- I was lucky to have seen the scarlet cars race in Monte Carlo twice and once in Montreal. And it was the great Michael Schumacher who raced in all those times! I had once been invited among Ferrari message board members ( 1 out of 15 lucky fans, out of a base of 10,000 fans) to attend the inauguration of the racing cars in Maranello in Modena, Italy but I had to decline because it was too late to get an Italian visa! I still have a lot of Ferrari memorabilia I have been a fan of the Prancing Horse since 1996! And...once a tifosi ( actually a tifosa), always a tifosi! Jo

Wishful thinking...or under serious casting consideration ? twitter.com/disneyfilmfactsDidn't Hugh host the TONY awards for that year ( 2014). If I remember correctly, the actor ( James Inglehart Monroe) playing the genie won the TONY Best Featured Actor category. But not sure if the Broadway version is what the live-action movie musical will be all about. collider.com/aladdin-live-action-movie-diverse-cast/#dan-linThey are also saying that they would like to see authentic casting. Er... no thanks for me But... Jo

Is the hint the photo with Walt and Mickey taken at Disneyland? "Partners"? How does this connect to LION KING? Could just be the Walt and Mickey "partnership ", or could possibly be, as speculated by Jo earlier, that he will be a Disney "partner" by contracting to be in a Disney film. Unfortunately, while being written about on filmsites, no casting confirmation was made at the Lion King presentation.
