But his extended arms seemed like a surfer's arms. He seemed to be actually doing squats while on a ball, which many people said was very, very difficult to do.

This is going to be Hugh's first sports-centric movie and he must be quite excited, given his love of sports.

Hugh did a video interview this week with Ryan Seacrest on E! News promoting "Wolverine" and at the end of the interview Ryan asked him that he heard he was doing "Carousel" and he wanted Anne Hathaway to star with him and asked if that was true. Hugh said yes it was, he's sent Anne the script, and he was practically begging Anne to say yes. I've read that Fox 2000 has put this on the "fast-track" and Hugh said he wants to film this within twelve months so sounds like it may be happening soon.

I saw that Seacrest interview, too. It follows after Variety reported that the CAROUSEL remake is now high priority on FOX 2000 film projects. Also interesting to note that they have updated the script ( written by David MaGee, who wrote the screenplay adaptation for FINDING NEVERLAND, for which MaGee received an Oscar nomination). Variety reports, "keeps the timeless spirit of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, but injects relevance for a contemporary audience."

LOS ANGELES—Despite the success of “Les Miserables,” Hugh Jackman is struggling to turn his dream project for years into a reality: a new film adaptation of the classic musical, “Carousel.”

“Yeah, I’d love to do that,” Hugh said of doing a movie of the beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that debuted in 1945 and a film version released in 1956. “That’s the one I’m fighting for. I still have to convince the people who pay for it.” As early as 2006, Hugh was reported to be planning to produce and star in the role of Billy Bigelow. Anne Hathaway was buzzed as the one Hugh wanted to play Julie Jordan.

In this interview, Hugh maintained that his passion project is still a no-go “but I think there’s more momentum for it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the film can still happen before I’m too old to play it (Bigelow).”...

R.Napales is a Filipino journalist residing in LA and who was the Chairman of the Golden Globes when Hugh Jackman received his award for Les Miserables.

The Bond rumors have resurfaced once again -- because Hugh recently tweeted a new image which resounds so much with James Bond fans --

Could Hugh Jackman be the next James Bond? He certainly has the credentials – steely jaw, cross-generational appeal, ability to leap off exploding buildings.

In September the Australian spunk and all-round nice guy revealed on news show The Project that he had, in fact, been offered the role but was already committed to X-Men 2 in which he played Wolverine.

“It was not an easy one to give up,” he confessed.

Then, in October, seven times Bond-James-Bond, Roger Moore named Jackman as the man who should replace Daniel Craig as the next 007.

Craig told Esquire magazine he couldn’t “even conceive it” when asked if he would play Bond again. “At this moment, no. I have a life and I’ve got to get on with it a bit. But we’ll see.”

With all this in mind, it’s easy to see why Jackman’s message to fans on Twitter has sparked rumours that the Aussie will soon be confirmed as the world’s most famous special agent.

Jackman appeared with a martini and uttered those famous words, “Shaken, not stirred.” Some eagle-eyed also observed that the video was exactly seven seconds long, or 0.07.

And I thought I was the ultimate James Bond fan !! I did not make the eye-catching connection except for the martini

The UK Daily Mail speculates about it. But is also reports that the Bond producers have been working hard to retain Daniel Craig in the role.

Check out the feedback section - quite a few oppose the idea. One reason is because the role should be portrayed by a Brit, since James Bond is a British icon. I think very few know that Hugh carries a British passport as well! He is known as an Aussie but he once admitted to a Brit radio show host that he does carry a dual passport. Also, two former non-Brit actors have portrayed the role. George Lazenby is an Aussie like Hugh while Pierce Brosnan is Irish. Hugh himself has portrayed British characters -- in Kate and Leopold, in Sccop, in The Prestige, and in The River.

Although it is probably very unlikely to happen, unless Daniel is really intent on not going back to the franchise. I wonder if he and Hugh have been communicating?

Before Madeleine Stowe was booked as the villainess temptress on the ABC series Revenge (2011 – 2015) she was widely touted as Screenwriter for the war drama, “Unbound Captives”. On the roster to star are none other than Hugh Jackman, Robert Pattinson and Rachel Weisz. Rumor has it that after a long pause, production is back on the table for an early 2016 New Mexico shoot.

“Unbound Captives” is about a woman (Weisz) whose husband is killed and her children kidnapped by a Comanche war party in 1859. She is rescued by a frontiersman, played by Jackman.

Hopes are high that New Mexico also has a shot at sharing production duties with an international location for the latest installment of the Wolverine trilogy. The untitled Wolverine project is slated for release in the spring of 2017. Jackman has been world famous for playing the duel role of Logan/Woleverine in the X-Men franchise since 2000.

And have they even gotten the funding and the distribution arrangements to get the movie back on pre-production status? The last time there was some talk, it was Madeleine Stowe who kept insisting she has obtained the funding and was ready to start -- but that was years ago. I remember that the last time Hugh talked about it publicly was when Katie Couric interviewed him when he was doing A STEADY RAIN ( circa 2009).

I doubt Robert Pattinson would still like to portray a 17-year old.

No news that it has been greenlit at all.

Plus the two priorities on Hugh's 2016 filming schedule are WOLVERINE 3 and GREATEST SHOWMAN ON EARTH, both of which have already been assigned release dates, March 3, 2017 and December 25, 2017, respectively. WOLVERINE 3 is a much-anticipated movie in the franchise...while Hugh has already talked about doing SHOWMAN in 2016 with an Aussie director during Broadway to OZ.

The Daily Mail-UK has reported that Daniel Craig has finally said goodbye to the James Bond role, despite lucrative offers for two more films.

This has yet to be confirmed, but The Daily Mail usually gets most of its reported buzz right.

The betting is that Tom Hiddlestone is the most likely candidate as the new Bond, assuming that Daniel cannot be persuaded once more to return to the role.

I have been a Bond fan since the books by Ian Fleming were first written and Sean Connery has always been my quintessential James Bond. Not sure about Hiddleston - not my idea of the physicality and manly appeal of James Bond. I wonder if Hugh would be approached as well if they need to recast the role?
