Many people were not too sure about the casting of Zendaya, thinking that she might have been cast because she is a popular pop idol for the young demos ( 34 million followers on Instagram!) -- but

*A film website writer thought that she is a good actress, judging from footage from the forthcoming SPIDERMAN-HOMECOMING movie. I have heard that she worked very hard to get considered for the role in GREATEST SHOWMAN!

*She said that she will be living in NYC for about 5 months so she can devote herself to the filming of Greatest Showman.

*Most surprising of all -- for one quite young, she is a level-headed young woman with some excellent advocacies, such as education for young girls.

Natalie Weiss was part of the original Broadway performers involved in the early workshops ( circa late in the run of THE RIVER) for GREATEST SHOWMAN ON EARTH. She was also included in the reading for FOX execs in February. Has she also been cast in the movie...or is she just helping out during pre-production?

We hear Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness will spend the holiday out east with friends before he heads back to Brooklyn to begin filming his latest project, “The Greatest Showman,” on Monday, in which he plays P.T. Barnum.

I could see three images ( including one as a child) of The Bearded Lady -- was she an important circus member? Supposedly, she will get to sing, or lead the singing, to THIS IS ME to represent the so-called Circus Freaks. Keala is expected to deliver a very strong (singing) performance as The Bearded Lady.


We haven't seen a Jackman-as-Barnum image yet! I had wondered if that most recent black-and-white photo posted by Hugh could be the basis for his film characterization. Barnum does not seem to have distinct characteristics that will need to be emphasized in a film characterization ( except for a possible wig for Hugh?). Hugh may not even have to show a more portly figure if he has to dance a few numbers? It would not fit in at all

Charity Barnum seems to be that lady in a dark gown who is holding Tom Thumb?

And Jenny Lind seems to be that beautiful lady in a white gown?

No character patterns for the Efron and Zendaya characters -- I think their characters were simply added to the script?

I am terribly excited now
