They are filming a movie, "The Greatest Showman on Earth" starring Hugh Jackman. With that title I thought it was about Trump, but no, its about P.T. Barnum.

The residents were complaining about the filming of some jerk called The Wolverine messing up traffic.  When they complained they were told "The City is making a fortune on these films".

LOL to the last comment -- it seems Hugh cannot get away from his Wolverine film persona, yet

In 1860, Barnum was around 50 years old. Maybe the focus of the film will be during his middle age ( in his 40's and onwards)?

Of particular interest is this one which focuses on the musical score --

Steven Suskin, Huffington Post: The formerly promising young songwriters Pasek and Paul, who created an interesting score for Dogfight and a surprisingly accomplished one for the holiday show A Christmas Story, are promising no more; their talent is thoroughly realized with Dear Evan Hansen, one of the strongest scores in years. The songs are not merely tuneful and funny and touching; Pasek and Paul can plumb the inner depths of their characters and rip through emotions in words and music. And as contemporary as their new score is, it should be added that their three musicals have demonstrated that they are equally adept in varied musical theatre styles.

Augurs well for THE GREATEST SHOWMAN!

Great news--but I'm not surprised. I was impressed by DOGFIGHT and found the score to A CHRISTMAS STORY delightful, both very different in style and tone. "Waving Through a Window" from DEAR EVAN HANSEN is that increasingly rare thing: a show tune that appeals as a piece of popular/rock music. The other songs from that show are almost as good. From what we've heard already ("This is Me"), I'm just as happily anticipating the songs in SHOWMAN.

There is a clip of one of the songs from DEH, called ONLY US, which is tuneful and heartfelt -- which heightens simple emotions into a very romantic moment. It starts as a solo and then becomes a duet. Hmm... another good sign of the musical dramatization skills of "our" composers

Much of the time was spent on The Greatest Showman, the Hugh Jackman-fronted musical biopic of legendary U.S. circus owner and entertainment businessman P.T. Barnum. Although the project has yet to go into production, director Michael Gracey was onstage to walk the audience through his vision of a film he said would be a "return to the classic film musical." He likened it to West Side Story, Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music.

Concept art and musical numbers were unveiled, as well as videos of Jackman and the team in rehearsals (one of which took place the day after the actor had an operation and defied the wishes of a doctor who said he shouldn't sing).
