This image is NOT from the film THE GREATEST SHOWMAN, but it is Hugh...and doesn't it remind you of the start of "The Greatest Show"? It came from his one-man show at WynnLasVegas when the hotel was inaugurated and Hugh was invited to present the exclusive show called " In Time"

But what eventually became such a source of joy for Hugh Jackman, Michael Gracey, and Pasek&Paul was the film they were apprehensive about before its premiere and even in the first week of release … turned out to be a worldwide phenomenon! To win the hearts of people - across all ages, across gender, and across borders - that was such a glorious conclusion to Hugh Jackman's 8 year wait over the project JO

On a lighter note - an oldie from the time when he was just announcing his world tour.
Arguably, A MILLION DREAMS is turning out to the Jackman musical standard in the world in general. Greatest Show is also very popular but not everyone can sing beyond the "Whoa, whoa......it's the greatest show!!"
Because whenever there is an occasion that the MILLION YEARS melody starts to play, people, kids, most everyone will just start singing along -- knowing much of the very long lyrics ( compared to pop songs which have simple and even repetitive lyrics) by heart.

Interesting inside info on "The Greatest Show".
They were already in pre-production and Michael Gracey wanted a BIG bombastic number to open the movie ( which also became the epilogue) -- A song was written but it seems he was not all that happy with it - because he wanted a really BIG one to impress the moviegoers and open the storyline.
Pasek&Paul eventually got linked to Ryan Lewis ( of Macklemore & Lewis, the pop duo) and they travelled to Seattle ( if I am not mistaken) because he resided there and had all his recording studio there.
He reviewed the number -- and added the famous opening --
Woah/Whoa... ( whichever) -- with its pop music intro...and the beat was born!
Success!

From the NOTES from the one associated with the production ( as Consulting Producer) who shared many insights with me, all through from before the final workshop to the premiere.
During post-prod, the contact was assigned to work related to the soundtrack --
I could not share the stuff this person shared with me at that time, sorry.
But this person actually "found" me on the Broadwayworld message board. I posted a rhetorical question on the status of the project ( sometime in early 2015 or so) and this person responded to me... and then started sharing regular insights. One of the most exciting things this person shared was what was learned (person was sick and could not attend) about the final workshop ( got a copy of the tape afterwards) and how Hugh simply caused that big uproar when he stepped up to sing FROM NOW ON. Said the room burst into a madhouse cheering!

The Fox Exec who oversaw the production project of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN (among other hits including LOGAN), Emma Watts has now joined PARAMOUNT PICTURES as President for the Motion Picture Group, reporting to her former boss at Fox and now Paramount Chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos.

She left Disney after staying for less than a year after the merger with Fox.
Hope Jim and Emma will have chance to work with Hugh Jackman once again!

The Westminster Chorus is a delight --
They won the competition for the International Chorus competition for 2019 as well as a Pavarotti festival. Such masters of group singing and barbershop quartet harmony!
Which reminds me - who will they cast as The Barbershop Quartet for The Music Man?

Addictive, huh And maybe because it came into our lives ( the whole world) at a time when we all needed a great measure of joy! Of course even Hugh et all got the surprise of their lives with its eventual unpredicted level of success. The movie was released in late 2017 and yet it continues to be mentioned regularly on social media. Happily for Hugh, his twin project for TGS ( they were planned almost at the same time and were filmed one after another, only a month or so in between), LOGAN, continues to be regularly cited on social media, too...as well as giving him his best portrayal and box office success in the Wolverine ( his career-making role) saga! This IS interesting -- Hugh added the Disney connection/ownership of the film property to his Twitter postHe missed it or did he deliberately omit it on his Instagram post? I wonder if he was prodded to do that by the Disney folks...because they MAY have an intention of streaming the musical on DISNEY+ in the near future? Jo
