Ramin, who will be Broadway's new Jean Valjean in the forthcoming revival, met Hugh during rehearsals for the Oscar number from Les Miserables. I remember seeing a photo of them chatting together.
From a recent BWW interview before he started the revival of Les Miserables in Toronto --

In case anyone missed Hugh's tweet --
It is not the same spot, but it is scary that another area has been affected not too long from the first occurrence! Hope he takes the time to recover and set aside professional commitments, if necessary.
Get well soon, Hugh!

It looks like he worked first on his promotional duties for DOFP before he submitted to his surgical procedures.

With so many fans sending him well wishes I doubt that he gets to see too many but I hope he feels all the love in his heart. I sent mine as soon as I saw the official tweet from him.
Saw the small band-aid a couple days before & at the time I wondered to myself if he had a needle biopsy. I had worn a small band-aid yrs ago after I had one on the side of my face. My result was Squamous-cell carcinoma, a step below Melanoma but it was already pretty deep and left a pretty noticeable scar. I'm very glad that Hugh caught his early before it reached that stage. I'm concerned that it's recurring so quickly. Since he spent so much time in the sun in the past I worry that he's just begun to scratch the surface, no pun intended. Since it takes many years for damaged cells to become cancerous I'm sure he & Deb are being extra cautious, which means testing every new growth no matter how small. I hope he doesn't have to endure too many of these surgeries and especially no more on his face! Also hope if anymore are found that they will only be the basal cell stage. Sue

The surgery is really so common I don't know many that haven't had basal cells on some part of their body!

Hugh does think about the possibility of more recurrence -- ... While Jackman previously said that he was pretty sure he wouldn't act in any further X-Men movies after the next one, which is scheduled for release in 2017, he told the AP: "I think I might have overplayed my hand a little bit by saying I'm almost sure that the next one will be my last."[/quote] Jo, I hope that the only "recurrences" we all see are... Hugh acting in more Wolverine movies! Now that's a welcome "recurrence". Alma

Oooohhhh... that is some 'morphing'... I guess we'll all have our favorites. I like Hugh better when he's not too skinny or his hair is not too short... or they haven't applied too much make-up...
Thanks, Valerie! smiley-signs101

Jo I just saw this too.....and I definitely noticed it during the Timestalk (a family member has had many of these surgeries, so I'm familiar with what these spots look like). Although Hugh himself said he would have more, I was sure hoping he would beat the odds.

The reddish blot was also there in the instagram image he posted re fishing equipment ( warning kids not to try it at home).
It must be so difficult for him and his family to have this threat every now and then.

After the Daily Mail story, someone commented that it might be from dermabrasion...? I don't know anything about the procedure.

Hope you're right, Ellen. Maybe it is the image ( he is wearing a hoodie on top of his baseball cap...and looking a bit downcast) which gives the impression that not everything is alright? He'll probably update on his Twitter account? Here's some info on the dermabrasion procedure -- www.webmd.com/beauty/dermabrasion/dermabrasion-21085Jo

My brother has had basil cell procedure several times, and I've had it once. The surgery itself is an in office procedure, but the post surgery daily dressing the wound routine can be annoying and uncomfortable. I make sure to be checked regularly...the price to pay for childhood sun bathing in Southern California without sunscreen. Hugh is taking care of it in a timely manner, but it must be frustrating when he is so busy.

But I also don't know anything about this. Let's hope for the best. I agree that part of my nervousness about these photos stems from his unusually droopy demeanor, but maybe he was just trying his best to stay inconspicuous, knowing the bandage would generate a lot of chatter.

One of my friends husbands gets it all the time. The good thing is, he takes care of it. And as long as he does, he will be fine. Hope he's himself soon. He's got a lot on his plate, especially as we all know, in the next week. Feel better soon, Hugh. We all care about you!!!

It was just someone's conjecture. I mentioned it because I thought someone might know something about the possibility. We obviously have no idea yet whether it's another lesion removal or what.
