What's five minutes - LOL!
Jez Butterworth confirmed in the Meet the Press interviews that the play is close to 90 minutes in one instance and then more categorically says that it is 90 minutes long, in another interview.
The official site has revised the info --
Maybe now that the rehearsals are proceeding smoothly, they are now arriving at the most likely length of the staging?
What's five minutes less of Hugh to see - LOL!

Reacting to the image of the set design model for THE RIVER, someone from ATC wondered --
Not likely, but on second thought, what if ...
LOL!

The TimesTalk conversation is supposed to last an hour and a half -- 5 minutes longer than the actual play itself, clocking in at 85 minutes according the latest update from the official THE RIVER site. LOL!
I wonder if Hugh and Ian are going to open up about the play itself when the cast and creatives have, up to now, been very good at being totally enigmatic about the material and the staging? Will having read the play enable the audience to appreciate the discussions better? Or will there be a Q&A? I hope the discussion leader/interviewer can open up the subject of the play and the treatment of its themes well. Will they unravel the final mystery?
I am surprised that they did not include Jez Butterworth in this discussion, as he is the best one to discuss the motivation of this play and its characters the best.
PS: I am going to read it again before Oct 21 ( morning here, Oct 22).

ACCESS HOLLYWOOD must love Hugh -- two mentions about THE RIVER one after another www.accesshollywood.com/neil-patrick-harris-oscar-gig-hugh-jackmans-broadway-return_video_2421337His co-stars and the creatives are probably surprised at the attention Hugh gets whenever there is a new project on hand - film or stage! The play was in a sense less heralded as it ran for only a short period in London and in a house which seated less than a hundred... but it did get very good reviews. All those bright lights flashing and microphones being shoved must make Laura and Cush a little overwhelmed Hugh brings both the Broadway and Hollywood markets for any stage stint. Jo

Are any of you in the New York area planning to attend this? It sounds like fun.

Thanks for the link Ellen. That should be a terrific interview. It certainly is one of the longest he's done in a while. I signed up to be notified and, looking at the site it seems they keep some of their shows for later viewing so I'm hoping to be able to download it too. Sue

In high definition -- Will this be the poster for the show? I am assuming that Hugh would be interested to participate in the BC/EFA campaign for fall this year. Will they use this as part of the campaign attractions, without the credits? It looks very simple but I like it for its neat elegance. Jo

The TimesTalks session with Hugh and Ian Rickson is finally SOLD OUT -- web.ovationtix.com/trs/pe/9954477Even on Stubhub ( where they were selling the tickets at more than double the regular admission price), tickets have also been sold out. Hope this is like the old ACTORS STUDIO interviews, including a Q&A. Jo

It looks like this is the more updated information on the availability of the livestream video -- events.newschool.edu/event/ny_times_talks_at_the_new_school_hugh_jackman_ian_rickson#.VEWUpNEcTOVThe event "Hugh Jackman and Ian Rickson event in collaboration with The New School" is the only one of the series, it seems, that is a collaborative effort with the New School and will be held at its Auditorium ( Johnson/Kaplan Hall). Will the discussion focus on the training and discipline for acting? Hugh is a well-known former drama student/ current stage and film actor while Ian Rickson is a very prominent director from the UK who steered The Royal Court Theatre for many years (the theatre is the foremost one in the UK that supports new work). Will the audience include students of The New School, just like Hugh's previous appearance in Inside the Actor's Studio? The other events from the series is being hosted at the Time Center.

If I am not mistaken, Jen was an active member of the original Ozalot forum.

It looks like NYTimes Theatre writer Patrick Healy will be part of the interview panel for the TimesTalks Conversations --

I am sorry I missed the livestream coverage...
Can't find the video of the livestream coverage (yet!) of the TimesTalks session, but the Twitter account of TimesTalks has some informative highlights of the session --

I think the Julia Child imitation was actually Hugh's doing Dan Aykroyd's imitation of Julia Child accidentally cutting a main artery while chopping food in an old SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE sketch. It was very cute.
