LOL- the feature is now on the online Entertainment Page of MSN. Hugh is now in the company of the biggest movie stars in the world! Re the script -- I have a feeling that the original storyline might be rewritten so we can see a lot more of the mesmerizing but megalomaniac Blackbeard Jo

This is Hugh's latest photo -- Hmmm... he should be starting filming PAN sometime in May. I wonder if he is going to sport a slightly different look for Blackbeard ( who is usually pictured with a flowing beard). He almost looks like a Spanish grande(e) in the first photo ( Empire Awards) - ironic, because Blackbeard was the enemy of Spanish ships! Of course, he would likely be sporting facial hair extensions for the film Jo

It looks like pirate stories are coming up soon on TV -- here's a trailer of an upcoming NBC show CROSSBONES, with Blackbeard portrayed by John Malkovich: www.slashfilm.com/crossbones-trailer/Except JM's Blackbeard is now an old man ( Blackbeard is supposed to have died fairly young), bald and sporting a white beard smiley-rolleyes010 ...He sorts of reminds me of Yul Brynner in THE KING AND I I wonder when Hugh will start filming his version of the charismatic former privateer and now megalomaniac Blackbeard in PAN? Look at who's joining the cast of PAN ? Amanda Seyfried! www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=40848 If you have had a chance to glimpse at the script, Amanda is playing a featured role ( Mary) but a most important one ( her physical looks are perfect for the role!). Her character and that of Hugh will not have many scenes together -- except for one singular scene of conflict! Antagonists, actually! Eric Fellner, who was a producer for Les Miserables, is also a producer for PAN. Maybe he had a hand in the casting of Amanda? Jo

It looks like Hugh will miss early filming of the movie, as he will be busy with other commitments till May 17 ( DOFP premieres/media tour and the launch of the Jackman Furness Foundation/cabaret performance in Perth on May 17).
Maybe he will join filming by the third week?
And he will likely take another break for rehearsals and actual hosting of this year's TONYs!

If filming is to start in late April/early May -- will Hugh be free for other projects by early fall?

Baz Bamigboye reports on the first days of filming for PAN -- I guess they're filming the first scenes, which would not require Hugh ( busy promoting DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and rehearsing for the TONYs). When will he join the shooting - his beard is now at a luxurious length Jo

And Hugh is preparing for his role now. Apart from growing his luxurious facial hair ( absolutely required for the role!), Hugh is now rehearsing with new blades ( not the adamantium-coated ones ) but the sabres used by swashbuckling pirates, such as one of the most famous buccaneers of all - BLACKBEARD! www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2619703/Hugh-Jackman-lets-sabre-talking-pirate-Blackbeard-rehearses-upcoming-movie-Pan.htmlIs that Dali in the background Hmmm....is he wielding the sabre with his right hand? He must be at least ambidextrous to some extent <cool>...Did he learn some sword-fighting skills when he was fighting with Yashida's son in THE WOLVERINE? Check out the link for more photos! Jo

I hope the cops recognize him and don't haul him down to the precinct as a psycho waving realistic-looking weapons. Fresh air is great, yeah, but couldn't he do that in a gym or rehearsal room? He's taking a chance. NYC authorities , especially post 9-11, don't fool around.

That's true, Ellen. Hopefully, the paparazzi who were taking the photos would have given enough attention that the person carrying a sabre in Hudson Park was no threat, but a crazed actor thinking he could rehearse and apply for a superhero role ( circa 18th century) Seriously, Hugh does enough walking or scootering ( oftentimes with Dali) the streets of Lower Manhattan that he probably is a permanent sight. Of course, his thick facial hair may hide the chiseled features... but he probably has some cops actually keeping watch for him Jo

It looks like filming may take place outside England, in more exotic locations which are vivid representations of the story settings. Glad to note that there will be an effort to minimize CGI-created scenery! If I remember the script right, there is a chance Blackbeard will also feature in these locations It looks like the exotic locations in Southeast Asia ( we also have something similar to the above-mentioned Vietnamese locales) are going to be perfect to portray part of Neverland?
