The casting choices for PAN have been interesting, to say the least. We know that the casting of Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily has been controversial, but it seems that Joe Wright is also going against conventional wisdom on the Peter Pan characters by casting a non-Caucasian for the very brief part ( only two lines in the script) of Wendy Darling -- www.imdb.com/name/nm6450769/?ref_=tt_cl_t9She looks quite a charmer, based on the photo. Leni was cast at the same time as Amanda Seyfried and the other featured roles. Jo

At Wimbledon, Hugh's facial hair has grown much longer -- is this for PAN or has he been enjoying an extended weekend and the makeup department has not been around to give him a trim. Someone has pointed out that he is beginning to look like John Malkovich now, who is currently playing a much older Blackbeard character. Jo

An account of a neighboring structure housing the world's largest aircraft, close to where PAN is being filmed. www.theverge.com/2014/7/8/5880061/airlander-10-photo-essayHmm... "The Jolly Roger" and " Queen Anne's Revenge" are both ships featured in the movie So, this is not going to be a CGI ship like the one featured in the opening shot of Les Miserables! Wow!

In his last tweet/instagram, Hugh seems to have already said "Ciao" and "Grazie" for his trip to Florence...and now back to filming for PAN.
PAN filming is using one of the huge building sheds to house its sets, including the full-scale pirate ship.

Deb looks great but hate the Pan look! I have to agree. This is not an attractive look - not even on Hugh. All things being equal at this point, I would deem the project unwatchable. Suggestion? Hugh should do the whole movie with a hat ON, and his shirt OFF. There you go, Foxie. Problem solved!

I don't know, but... as everything about Hugh, it's starting to "grow" on me...
I don't love EVERY picture of him with his Pan look, but those from Wimbledon? Swoon!!! Those first ones with a dark suit and the other ones with Deb and in the light suit?... sigh!
Not that I'd like him to keep this look forever, but I'm just not so shocked or against it anymore...

Certainly always... kissable.

The Wimbledon photos did a lot to publicize the movie! Btw, there seems to be much interest in the pirate tales and related stories surrounding Peter Pan. Isn't there a current TV series on Blackbeard? The NBC musical is expected to be aired in December of this year ( check out the update on the casting in the OFF-TOPIC section). Broadway is also talking about the possibility of the transfer of the West End musical adaptation called "Finding Neverland". And PAN will be released in July, 2015. Hugh will surely be carrying this movie, at least in terms of promoting it ...He has already done a lot in introducing the new look of Hugh Jackman/aka Blackbeard Jo

Since the film originates from an English tale, the characters are mostly English, part of the story happens in England, the creative team ( director et al) are English, and filming is taking place in England, will the English accent be used? Or will it be generic as this is intended for worldwide release?
From an old interview re Kate and Leopold ( I have to rewatch it and confirm if he did put on an English accent in the movie -- can't remember now) --

In the movie where we fell in love with Hugh Jackman -- is Leopold's accent Brit enough? www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpSlJaP2sHw(Note: At 1'10", Leopold meets then-budding actress Viola Davis) And here's another instance when Hugh was supposed to have an Englsh accent, as the aristocrat Peter Lyman in SCCOP. It is not very pronounced but there is just a hint of it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8LiPKDW83Q#t=116Jo

If they are filming according to sequence - they must be more than halfway through the movie now, based on the script If I remember correctly, the encounter by Peter with the mermaid happens past the halfpoint and more towards the last act of the storyline Hugh seems to be able to eke out an extra day or so from filming, when he goes on his weekend jaunts to other places.

LOL - Cara D's publicist must be earning his/her keep by publicizing something which was much-ado-about- nothing smiley-rolleyes010 www.tv3.ie/entertainment_article.php?locID=1.803.810&article=142282I've seen the news item duplicated in a few media outlets ( one even incorrectly identified Rooney Mara as a fellow mermaid - LOL!). *It was as if Cara has a big role -- it is small featured role and does not even have a speaking part ( if the script is to be followed strictly) *I am sure filmmaking knows to cope when delays caused either by natural reasons ( rain, etc) or other contingencies happen, even if the actor featured is the lead! I think Joe Wright should start allowing some teaser pics, as there has been a real dearth of news, except for all the Hugh coverage re his unusual hairstyle ( or lack of it) and much-commented facial hair Interesting that on other fronts Peter Pan- related projects are now much discussed on media -- *On Broadway, there is much speculation on how the Harvey Weinstein-sponsored stage adaptation of FINDING NEVERLAND will fare. He had the entire creative process for the London premiere scrapped! *The NBC live musical based on the Mary Martin original stage musical PETER PAN is now underway with its casting ( Christopher Walken as Hook, Allison Williams as the actress portraying Peter, Christian Borle as Smee/Mr. Darling). As the origin movie, PAN, is planned as a blockbuster release, maybe Joe Wright will soon share some inside images with us ? Jo

A small update from the SouthChinaMorningPost.com interview ( see seation on Multi-topic Interviews) --
I wonder if they filmed most of the scenes which would not require him first, so he can be free for his other commitments? Also, the movie seems like more of an ensemble cast, with Hugh ( Blackbeard), Levi Miller ( Peter), Gareth Hedlund ( young James Hook) and Rooney Mara ( Tiger Lily) as the main characters, with Amanda Seyfried as Mary ( a featured but an important role).

Someone responded to Hugh's latest tweet/instagram( with the double rainbow) So, is Hugh billeted at The Grove, a country estate type of hotel ? *Its amenities include being a neighbor to the Warner Bros studios which is available for tours ( it was home to the filming of the Harry Potter series for a decade...and also home to the filming of PAN *It's near London ( 18 miles) *It has excellent amenities for kids...and a spa. *It has a championship type of golf course ( maybe Ian Rickson, Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo came to visit him and why they had that photo on the greens?) *Maybe it was where he had seen the double-rainbow Jo
