Looking back at the Wiki notes pages at the start of this thread -- Yes, he did have a romanticized image of a fearsome-looking pirate but who ruled the seas with the reputation of a modern management man However, based on the script by Jason Fuchs in the origin story PAN...and based on the trailer...Blackbeard seemed a little more tyrannical. However, his initial dealings with Peter ( to discover the secret with which Blackbeard had megalomaniac intentions) were persuasive and, on the surface, kind. His true colors come out as he becomes more and more agitated about his ambitions. We'll see how Joe Wright's own cinematic vision and Hugh Jackman's characterization present the true image of this real-life pirate Jo

It looks like they did some reshoots or just pickup shots ( augmentation footage) before he left for Paris --
Probably just scenes with his pirate crew on Queen Anne's Revenge?

It looks like it was actually 3 days of reshoots --
The tweeter is from the production crew and responded to Hugh's EUROSTAR message and image, thus --

They have incorporated the pan in the new artwork for the title. From the official PAN Facebook page -- I wonder if this also formalizes the use of "PAN" as the film title. It was used as the tentative title when the project was first announced. Jo

From Wiki notes on the god Pan of mythology --
The pipes he plays are replicated on the pendant that Peter wears...as well as the new artistic configuration of the movie title.

Nothing to do with Hugh, or this movie specifically, but since we've wandered down this tangent, here's a thought -
JM Barrie came from a large family. I believe he had 8-9 siblings. According to some biographical info -
I think Barrie's own brother may have been the inspiration for his eternally youthful character, Peter Pan, and, if so, he certainly succeeded in immortalizing the memory and spirit of his sibling.
(I haven't seen the movie Finding Neverland in a long time, nor have I seen the new stage musical. Is any of this mentioned in either?)

Thanks for that insight, Valerie.
I wonder how James Barrie might have felt if he had known that in this origin story of PAN, Peter's mother is given a key role ( portrayed by Amanda Seyfried), albeit briefly.

I never realized how much the original book by James Barrie has created so many telling and retelling of the story of Peter Pan. From Wikipedia, here's a summary of all adaptations in one form or another --
How is PAN going to differentiate itself from all other adapations ?
For one, it focuses on the origin story of Peter and how he eventually became Peter Pan.
It introduces a new main character, in the person of the pirate Blackbeard. It casts Tiger Lily in a more feisty role. It puts Peter and James Hook as allies, something that people think may be unthinkable, given how they will end up in their relationship in some other time . The setting of the movie is more visually appealing! Hopefully, the main cast delivers more remarkable performances compared to previous adaptations. Hopefully, another trailer is forthcoming very soon!
