If he is seriously in training now for the physical requirements for WOLVERINE 3 -- wouldn't he be shedding weight when he starts on his concert series in late November?

He is doing 16 shows to-date!

You can tell by the hair cut that the pictures are old.

And latest reports had him at the MCG in Melbourne. So he's still spending the holiday period with family and friends back home.

He was dressed formally but did not shave for the occasion... I think maybe he is already preparing for a certain role ( cameo or farewell solo movie)

Two supreme athletes and Wolverine!!

One of the former trainers of Hugh speaks about his proposed training regimen for his clients. Of particular interest was his narration of how and how long Hugh trained for THE WOLVERINE. If only for that, there seems a very valid reason for Hugh to step back from his WOLVERINE role permanently, if only because of any health implications as he advances in age and given some of his health issues.

Of course, with Hugh for Wolverine, he was eating 4000 calories a day to bulk up. We had him from October to March and he was basically bulking up that entire time – eating every two to three hours, training twice a day.

For that period, he'd wake up at 5am, go to the gym, come back, eat, have a sleep, go to the gym again, eat. And eat. Training was his life.

What a sad commentary : " Training was his life."

After he finished THE WOLVERINE, Hugh became involved with the promotion period for LES MISERABLES, not only in relation to its release worldwide, but because they had anticipated the movie to be awards-worthy ( and required a separate campaign). And during that period, he also accepted the role in PRISONERS.

That was certainly a very difficult time for Hugh, at least physically-speaking. Back on Broadway/Les Miserables filming/The Wolverine filming/Les Miserables release promotion and Oscars campaign/ Prisoners filming/Days of Future Past filming.

It was probably very artistically-fulfilling for Hugh as an actor/performer! The variety of his artistic challenges cannot likely be matched by any other actor for the same variety and for the same protracted period of time.
