He retired this swimsuit a long time ago   Circa late 2004 ( best guess) Kidding aside - I think he used to wear them (maybe he still does) underneath his swimsuit ...maybe in case of wardrobe malfunction of the board shorts Jo |

I guess it is not just for his regular physical regimen...but it could be part of the prep for REMINISCENCE ( Jade Earring), as that storyline includes some strong action scenes.
