Interesting part of the current REDDIT conversation re BAD EDUCATION -- Many movie fans have expressed similar impressions...that they are surprised with Hugh's success in other genres, post-Wolverine. And many are not (yet) aware how he is also a BIG MAN ON (BROADWAY) CAMPUS! Jo

Hope there will be a forthcoming session with Annette Insdorf again when 2 important Jackman projects come up -- post-quarantine!
*The Music Man *Reminiscence ( April 16, 2021)

Early during the chat, I sent in a question which Annette did not read... but Hugh sort of answered it later on.
My question was " How was it like working with Darren Aronofsky?" and later in the interview when he was talking about his relationship with directors, he cited a particular example of how Darren makes his presence felt when they were filming, how it was in a different way from other directors.
Also, it was a personal delight for me when he mentioned LES MISERABLES as one of 2 projects which had a lasting impact on him. This is my favorite Jackman movie. The other one is THE BOY FROM OZ - likely everyone's favorite stage project of Hugh.

VOILA!!!!!!!!*deleted video link* Hugh is such an intelligent and very warm person who shares so much of himself and his craft! Very eloquent and articulate, too! It has never been more evident than in this session! Jo I'm not sure if it's desired to post a link to this video on a public board, as it is actually a video on demand for what people have paid (or have to pay) to get access to. It's not listed and not publicly posted on the 92nd Street Y YouTube channel either.

The link was sent to me by the Director of Patron Entertainment of 92Y, in answer to my query if I had to subscribe to On Demand/The Vault and pay $ 5.99 for one month ( I had actually done that earlier) -- her straightforward reply was "NO" and then she gave me this direct link. I had previous email communication with her when I was subscribing for the session and that was why I had some link with her.
The link she sent me which opened to a YouTube upload from 92Y had a choice of "WATCH" or "SHARE" -- so, I took the option of "SHARE" ( which also opened to the YouTube upload). It was done on good faith based on this. Per implied suggestion, I will delete the posts.
Also, since I am a subscriber to THE VAULT/ON DEMAND, I checked it several times and up to now - it is not part of those reels

Luzie,
I have deleted the link I posted re the 92Y interview that you have quoted in your post. I will request Valerie, our Board Admin, to delete the link embedded in your reply to my post.
Btw, I have also given an explanation on how it came about on another post.

I enjoyed listening to many insights from Hugh from his extensive filmmaking experience. He seems to be increasingly drawn to, and has come to be the basis for the choice of film roles - to stories rich on the subject of human nature! I think it has even become more important that after he seemed to have fully explored the story of Wolverine/Logan, that he has become more drawn to dramatic stories exploring human nature and behavior. He said as much for Bad Education and The Front Runner. And it was very telling that he chose LES MISERABLES as the film project which had a lasting impact on him because the story of Valjean in that historical era of revolutionary France ( not the French Revolution per se but the years when there was still social unrest) is very inspiring. Does this mean he will not go back to superhero franchises? I don't know - he was impressed with how the genre had blossomed since they revived the genre 20 years ago ( Lol - he name-dropped Kevin Feige, as being Lauren Shuler Donner's assistant). That he has moved to a different genre ( a mix of sci-fi/action/romance) now in Reminiscence is something to watch for. He said it twice - it is film noir ( the Bogart comparison as well) - which seems to be a study subject in the film series class he is taking with Ms. Innsdorf. He is very comfortable and well-attuned to the kind of long-term vision that his agent ( he did mention the name of Patrick Whitesell) has for him. Patrick must have recognized the kind of versatility that Hugh has in reserve in his talent skills that PW sort of expected his client of 22 years ( per Hugh) to come full circle only now, with Bad Education. Btw, they first met when Hugh was playing the role of Curly in Oklahoma! ( 1968). Hugh did mention that they seemed to have had a conversation earlier during the day of the 92Y interview. I wonder - is Patrick sending him more stuff/scripts to look at, if and when his commitment to The Music Man is completed ( assuming that this won't get delayed years - who knows when Broadway can really reopen?). He says he is much more at home in films now... now with his experience of some 20-30( he couldn't remember the exact number ) films to-date... that he seems to have fully grasped how different in perspective and physical aspects it is from the theatre. Maybe the film classes that he is now taking is further sharpening his appreciation of the film art! Jo

I've also emailed 92Y and asked for the video link, because I've bought an online "ticket" for last week's chat but couldn't take part in it due to the time difference. It was said on their website that ticket holders will have exclusive access after the event to view the program again at any time, that's why I've mailed them yesterday and also received a reply with the link. Plus, since yesterday the video is available on their site as video on demand for $20. www.92y.org/hugh-jackmanHence - to avoid any problems, especially for the admin of this forum - I thought it's a bit inappropriate to post the video link on a public board.

I've already sent a PM earlier to our Admin re my deleting the link...and requested her to delete the link on your quoted link as I didn't know how soon you can come back to the forum. I was sent the link gratis by the 92Y rep in response to an inquiry if I need to subscribe to TheVault. Maybe she thought my initial payment of $ 25 was already sufficient. Btw, when we first subscribed, there was a clear message that it would be available to view anytime ( presumably after uploading) without any mention of any additional fees. I guess they changed their minds and took it as an opportunity to raise funds.
It says the online link is good only up to June 30. I wonder if this will then be uploaded to The Vault/On Demand where it can be viewed eventually.

Maybe add Prisoners/The Fountain/Bad Education to the choices?
