Sir Patrick says he drew envious stares as Hugh carried him in his arms a few times in LOGAN www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2017/03/04/patrick-stewart-carried-by-hugh-jackman/98763486/Going back to previous movies -- *Eddie Redmayne said he was "carried like a babe" by Hugh in LES MISERABLES. *Anne Hathaway was also carried up the stairs in Les Miserables. Previous to that, he carried her up the stage for the 2009 Oscars *My memory is not so clear now -- did Hugh, as the Wolfman Van Helsing, carry Kate Beckinsale/Anna in that final tragic moment in VAN HELSING? Or was he just cradling her in his arms? And while on stage -- *His dancing in the dream ballet in OKLAHOMA! included hoisting up/carrying Josefina Gabrielle. *He was energetic and also hoisted up two of his backup dancers on Back on Broadway. He is very strong!

And don't forget his hoisting two women in the fountain scene in that Lipton iced tea commercial, "Japanese Dancing Hotel." (Was that the title?)

Video clip re the inception of the LOGAN concept -- build.aol.com/video/58b89f144d9693747c879b68/?a_dgi=aolshare_twitterHe said it was exactly on March 2, 2015 when he recorded that now-famous phone memo re his thoughts on how they should pursue the last Wolverine movie. He also added that on a conceptual basis, the movie probably carried about 95% of his thoughts then ( and on that basis James Mangold ran away with the conceptual thoughts and created the film story/script!). Hmm...March 2015 - that was after his run on THE RIVER. It was also already established that he would not be part of APOCALYPSE ( where the part that was supposed meant for him was rewritten to let the Mystique character be given the leadership role *rolleyes*). That was a few months before that awkward ComicCon encounter with Bryan Singer, where it became obvious that Hugh will not be in APOCALYPSE movie ( the cameo was filmed much later - I think very early 2016 if I am not mistaken, almost like an afterthought)...and it was also the same ComicCon when Hugh announced that he would be doing a farewell Wolverine movie. So glad that everything ( artistic and commercial success! ) turned out very well for LOGAN and for Hugh! Jo

Thanks, Ellen! I glanced at a mention of the article somewhere -- but there is still so much to post that I had to put it on hold in the meantime. It is unbelievable how many incisive articles on the depth of the movie and also how many other informative features that have come out even after LOGAN has been out after a week. Usually after a movie is released, the articles and interviews diminish in number fast...but not for LOGAN. Quite a number of well-written and long articles have come out, even drawing the attention of Mangold because of the depth of appreciation of the cinematic vision and the eloquence and depth of the writing. Btw, there was one feature which I have been debating on whether to post or not -- one that had behind-the-scenes showing the actors as NOT what we saw on the big screen ( such as Hugh/Logan clawless while doing the forest fight sequence) -- they destroyed the illusion too much I am getting this feeling that LOGAN will become a true standard for the genre and for filmmaking in general. It is on the way to being a commercially-successful and artistically-praised cult film, a movie that current and future generations of moviegoers and filmmakers will continue to view for reference and for indulgent movie-watching. I am also not so sure that Mangold and Jackman fully expected this kind of reception to their passion project! Jo

Check out the TWITTER ACCOUNT of HANNAH WESTERFIELD who played the mutant Rebecca in LOGAN. She must have taken the class photo with Wolverine, hence she was not part of it. twitter.com/followhannahQuite a few photos of Mutant Rebecca with friends from the set and the NYC premiere of LOGAN, as well as with some of the mature cast and creatives. It seems the kids enjoyed themselves playing as mutants in the finale act! Jo

LOL - LOGAN wants you to meet him first before you go to Disneyland What an irony -- Two films which opened within a year of each other became standards in their own right. The first XMen movie surprised the big screen in 1990 while the animated Beauty and the Beast delighted so many ( including the non-traditional animation fans such as the older demos)when it opened in 1991! One ( the very first XMen film) became the strong artistic forerunner of the now biggest movie genre. The other (the animated version of Beauty and the Beast) was the first animation movie ever nominated for an Oscar Best Picture. This month the Wolverine series ( via LOGAN) opened two weeks before the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast. LOGAN will do very well at the box office ( will likely be the third-highest ranked in the franchise) while BaTB is expected to be a box office juggernaut. Wolverine as a character has been hailed by so many for being the hero/antihero with whom they grew up with over a 17-year period, someone who has influenced the rise of the phenomemon of the "fanboy". Fanboys ( and even fangirls) now grieve that their hero is now leaving the same franchise. But he is successfully leaving them with a legacy! Early reviews for Beauty and the Beast are mixed, with the following a seeming honest appreciation of the level of disappointment for another childhood icon now gone the big Disney route, as per these reviews( one by the Wall Street Journal and the other by a less known media outlet -- www.wsj.com/articles/beauty-and-the-beast-review-live-actors-dead-wrong-1489690715?mod=e2twwww.heraldextra.com/entertainment/movies/disney-s-beauty-and-the-beast-receives-an-update-/article_2562448d-cc47-5507-89b8-37aa332d9141.html#twt-embedAs they sit on Rotten Tomatoes -- LOGAN is hailed with a 92% aggregate rating while BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is disappointing at its current rating of 66%. LOGAN has received some of the best reviews, not just for a superhero film, but for film in general! Very unexpected but very satisfying for any fan of the comicbook movie genre ... and for a fan of the actors who have portrayed their characters on screen. There are even Oscar whisphers around! But it seems that artistically-speaking it might be quite disappointing for the great fans of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ( I loved the first movie...and even saw it on stage). But for fans of LOGAN/WOLVERINE -- social media couldn't contain the strong appreciation messages enough! Up to today, twitter is full of thank you's for LOGAN. How will BEAUTY AND THE BEAST be received by the fans? One last irony -- the leading man of LOGAN started his professional theatre career by depicting BEAUTY AND THE BEAST'S Gaston in his homeland ... but is now leaving his 17-year commitment to being Wolverine in LOGAN Jo

Not as often played as "Gaston" and "Me" is the "Mob Song". It highlights Hugh's singing as Gaston leading the mob to assault the castle --
