Was watching Logan earlier today with my son,

such a good film. Hugh Jackman will always be iconic for bring the character to life, he looked the part and set the bar for heroic transformation

And no, I dont care that he used steroids. Im glad he did

LOGAN set itself apart from other superhero films as HughJackman's portrayal focused on the end of his journey... as a character w/ a dark&violent side(the X-24 metaphor)&his human side honoring his mentor Prof X&finding love in his child X-23.
HJ's acting deserved an Oscar nod!

In the end,Logan goes into the sunset,having reached the ideal ending. To me,X-24 was a metaphor representation of his dark&violent side(w/c Wolverine battled all his life)while X-23(Laura) was the good in him&the future of his idealism.

Our kick started because we watched Logan Noir in 4k. Seeing the light leave Patrick Stewart & Hugh Jackman's eyes in B/W was an eerie treat. There's a lot of misfires in Logan, but it is really good. I think I like The Wolverine most of all the storyline that aren't Future Past.

That was the other deeply sad scene in LOGAN -- not as heralded as the Logan-Laura farewell scene... but it touched the heart's core equally well because it spoke volumes of the relationship between the hard-hearted Logan and his mentor Prof Xavier! He could not articulate well that it was not he ( but his metaphoric self X-24)...Very poignant scene!

I decided to rewatch the X-Men movies this past few weeks (at least the three main trilogies) since it had been six years and they still mostly slap. Most importantly Hugh Jackman's boneheaded move to return didn't change my affection for Logan, which was a concern for me.

Logan was special in its own right as end of the journey of this warrior, weary from his centuries-long saga.
But we know that during his much-storied life, there were episodes worth recalling maybe from its comicbook origins...such as his adventures w/Deadpool!

Boneheaded? Hmm...sometimes there is unfinished business that needs closure or fond recollections. Let's wait what his reunion with Deadpool will serve - will it simply be part of the colorful saga of Wolverine...or will it attempt to link the XMen world with other superheroes?

I missed 20 minutes of it but I enjoyed the movie. Hugh Jackman really is such a great actor and a great Wolverine. I kinda wish this really was his last ride as him and not Deadpool 3 but what are you gonna do I guess.

IIRC, no matter how nosy everyone was while LOGAN was being filmed, despite test screenings, the presence of the anti-Wolverine character X-24 did not become known until the film premiered. X-24 was a metaphor of Wolverine, the dark & violent side he hated.
