There are quite a few uploads of Keala's THIS IS ME -- this one has better close-up of her and her singing. And this is the annotation of the YTube uploader -- Given the reactions to the trailer ( and how many uploaded parts of the trailer featuring the song parts) and now this -- I would not be surprised if this becomes a pop hit if it is released as a single from the movie ( As someone remarked on BWW -- it is radio-friendly")! Maybe even some Grammy honors, too Jo

Gut feel -- could it be the musical score, with its contemporary appeal, which will bind cross-generational audiences for THE GREATEST SHOWMAN? We still have to hear the rest of the song list ( a part of COME ALIVE was presented during FOX presentation at CinemaCon in Hollywood, annotated by Hugh) but if the approach taken by Pasek and Paul, with cinematic inputs from Michael Gracey, is well-executed ( as reported in the recent Variety article) -- the movie will win hearts via its music...and if the production numbers in which they are presented also dazzle, Hollywood might fall in love again with movie musicals ( maybe even much more than the sheer novelty impact of La La Land)! This is terribly exciting! Hope that second trailer will drop soon! I am anxiously and excitedly awaiting if Hugh Jackman will show a dazzling song and dance number in the next trailer Jo

But another poster disses the song itself but finds Keala impressive --
It may sound trite to some maybe if sung by ordinary people -- but she (ChildofEarth) is probably not aware of the context in which the song is sung. THIS IS ME is the anthem of people considered social outcasts because they look very different ( the Bearded Lady portrayed by Keala, the dwarf Tom Thumb, the Siamese twins, etc.,)... and given a chance to shine in this story when Barnum organizes them as his performing troupe.

Shared by Zac Efron on his birthday message for Hugh -- this must have been taken after filming their song-and-tap-dance duet/faceoff!

What other games do they play while waiting on the set? Backgammon was introduced in America only in the early part of the 20th century...so the board was not part of the props for the Barnum biopic! Jo

Nothing new from the message -- but I hope it means that the 2nd trailer is coming soon!
Can't wait to see some fine display of Hugh's triple-threat talent!
C'mon, FOX!

Hugh Jackman seems to be running a lot in his last few movies -- he ran uphill in LOGAN ( and fainted twice during filming) and Barnum seems to be running to or away from someone in this action shot. It wasn't running per se, but he was shown going downhill while sky jumping drunk in EDDIE THE EAGLE. Not bad for someone close to 50! Jo

Anyone remember the role ( Ivan) that Hugh almost portrayed in defunct SEED's film adaptation project "If You Could See Me Now" from the novel by Cecelia Ahern?

Product tie-in! His and Hers Fragrances inspired by THE GREATEST SHOWMAN www.moodiedavittreport.com/house-of-sillage-aims-to-add-its-sparkle-to-travel-retail/Excerpts -- Based on the full article, it looks like the fragrance company products are a little on the high end. Are products of the House of Sillage generally available in many big cities or is availability fairly limited? But given that THE GREATEST SHOWMAN is for mass audiences, will the fragrances created to tie in with the movie be made at more affordable prices and widely available? Or is this simply a limited publicity tie-in for the forthcoming movie? Nevertheless, this puts the publicity for the movie on a different scale compared to the usual popcorn/soda/memorabilia stuff. I know we have all been getting impatient to see a second trailer, but -- It seems some of the big December releases are only onto their second trailer -- I have just read that the 2nd-only trailer of "Star Wars - Last Jedi" ( opening December 15) has just been reviewed and will likely be released in the next few days...So, maybe Showman is not doing too bad, based on that progress of probably THE blockbuster of the year ( all it has to do is beat Beauty and the Beast box office receipts) Jo

There is another P.T. Barnum on the horizon I am not familiar with DC LEGENDS OF TOMORROW ( TV show ? ) -- but it seems there is a new telecast/screening which will feature the character of Barnum, as played by erstwhile Phantom ( the first one -- the one from the jungles -- the one with a comic strip), Marc Anthony, and TITANIC co-star Billy Zane! comicbook.com/dc/2017/10/17/billy-zane-legends-of-tomorrow-pt-barnum/Excerpts --

I stumbled on a cable channel ( Warner Bros) here in Manila, which says "DC LEGENDS OF TOMORROW ( same day as the US)" -- and found this man in this particular show: Yup, Barnum as portrayed by Billy Zane But first, I had to contextualize the show ( thanks to Wiki) as I am not familiar with it at all. *It is a supehero series! *It seems the episodes focus on certain timelines where the heroes/heroines do a lot of time travel? *This particular episode focused on the time when Barnum lived. Hope I understood those premises well. How was Barnum characterized here? My point of comparison would be the half-read autobiography of Barnum himself Then the Cy Coleman musical with Michael Crawford interpreting the role And of course glimpses fom the trailer of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. There were some familiar characters ( the ones who get to sing THIS IS ME in the musical film adaptation) -- the Bearded Lady, Yin and Yang (Siamese Twins) etc... But most importantly, the focus of the Billy Zane character is someone I did not recognize from my various abovementioned reference points. My impression is that the P.T. Barnum ( also called The Greatest Showman) portrayed here is more of a boisterous, contemptible, and sleazy business opportunist! Sorry, but that is how Billy Zane seemed to anchor his portrayal, What could be the potential the impact of this TV episode on the Christmas movie THE GREATEST SHOWMAN -- *As the market for the TV show seems to be the fanboys/people interested in these types of shows -- maybe it will encourage them to see THE GREATEST SHOWMAN to see how a great fanboy favorite, Wolverine/Logan and film favorite Hugh Jackman, fares in this kind of biopic (even if LEGENDS portrays Barnum in a more negative light)! *For those who do NOT like musicals -- they may think the movie musical may be worth seeing because LEGENDS'S Barnum seems to be quite a character! And maybe the singing and dancing may not be all that bad, given the circus environment of the story-telling. *For those who are already keen to see THE GREATEST SHOWMEN, maybe they would welcome the chance to see Barnum portrayed in a more controversial characterization of the man ( maybe a man of great vision but maybe a man who had less then altruistic motives... or a portrayal of a man whose own family was as important as his circus family, as against the man portrayed in LEGENDS as simply a bit of a douche ( sorry!). *For the general public who stumbled onto LEGENDS -- hey, maybe this new movie coming up on Christmas might be an interesting biopic after all! Some people of course may be a little turned off by the character portrayed by Billy Zane, but then again - they might think that Hugh Jackman will likely show us the better side of Barnum. Drama based on a real-life character and and triple-threat talent in one movie! Jo

I'm not familiar with this either, but I have a feeling this will generate a lot of interest fot THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. And if this is a "darker" look at the character, maybe audiences will embrace a more positive, musical portrayal that much more! Alma
