The development of the musical score must have been the most laborious and most painstaking in executing the cinematic vision! Pasek and Paul came in at the right time and the right place. That they had a musical theatre backround was a boon because the music was developed like a new stage musical is being born. The series of workshops, tested with some of the best voices from Broadway ( and some were stars on the live stage in their own right), made sure that the music was ready when the rest of the key components of the project came into place. What a reward to Pasek and Paul that it is now a very popular soundtrack album with the public. *A Broadway adaptation sounds like an excellent possibility. With Hugh in the transfer, that sounds like another Broadway hit. But how long would that take and who would finance the project? *Would that fall into the lap of Disney? Because it is said that it may take as many as 18 months to get regulatory approval for the transfer of assets and rights from Fox to Disney. Jo |

And maybe cross over to neighboring Japan where THE GREATEST SHOWMAN will open on February 16, 2018?
These are two important movie musicals ( and blockbusters, too) markets in this side of the world.
