S'il vous plait -- can anyone please share what he said about the Ferrari project ( towards the end) - I only caught " I hope so!". Are there any further details?

It sounded to me as though Hugh said something like “if it happens,” referring to the Ferrari film. Just prior to that, when the host was holding up a photo of P. T. Barnum, I thought I heard Hugh say he’d have to put on a few more “pasta pounds.” Not sure if he was referring to a more physically authentic representation of Barnum or the hopefully upcoming role of Ferrari.

Thanks, Ellen. Maybe he was referring to Enzo Ferrari, because the host also showed Enzo alighting from a car.

That was supposed to be filming in 2018, if Michael Mann gets all he needs to get the greenlight for the project (if I understood the circumstances when Hugh became attached to the project). It is supposed to be based on a book which highlights the tragedy and drama that happened when Enzo was no longer racing ( he was in his 50's or so). Maybe the box office popularity of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN could raise the chances of getting the film going because of Hugh's current popularity even without donning the claws of Wolverine?

Is Hugh going to Japan for the premiere there of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN? The movie opens in Japan on February 16.

He did not go to China when it opened early this month ( February 1) so I thought it wasn't also planned to have a Japanese premiere.

It looks like he may be going to Japan to do a promotion for THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. Japan is arguably the second largest movie musicals market after the USA. And they also love Wolverine there

Many memories for Hugh re Japan --


First, there was this movie whose story is based on Japan, and some of which was actually filmed in Japan







And Les Miserables was given a truly royal welcome in Japan --





The premiere was attended by Japan Crown Prince Naruhito.

Its box office results was the best for the film from the international market outside the UK ( $ 63 M), which was the home of the English stage musical -- $ 62 million! Interesting that for La La Land, the results for the two countries showed similar trends - Japan with $ 38 M and the UK with $ 37 M.
