A moviegoer/critic tries to understand the warring emotions and intellectualizings on why this movie works!

Triple-threat talent! Hey, it looks like it only needs facial and head hair to differentiate the multiple versions ( action/drama/musical). Although for drama he can be all kinds ( The Fountain with the long hair/beard, the conventional hair/no beard, the bald head with no beard) I am excited to see what the consistent look will be for THE FRONT RUNNER

I wonder what the base commandant/commander will think when he sees his battalion of fighting men and women singing and dancing to THE GREATEST SHOW instead Maybe -- if you can't fight 'em, join' em! From now on !!!!!!!!! Hey, it used to be Bing Crosby singing WHITE CHRISTMAS which inspired the soldiers one evening in the frontiers of World War 2 -- maybe the troupe of Ringmaster Barnum can do the same Jo

Easter egg ideas! It even captures Hugh's wicked occasionally crooked grin

It's the hardest song ( for me, anyway) to try copying -- but he's got a full handle on it

Finally, someone who recognized that THE GREATEST SHOWMAN was composed by Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and Ryan Lewis ( former Macklemore partner) --

If only people know that Hugh actually filmed the two movies ( LOGAN & THE GREATEST SHOWMAN) back to back -- with only the required break in between! The theatre fans who have watched Hugh's stage musicals in the past must be beaming More seriously, it seems that this new turn in Hugh's film career after the dramatic farewell to Wolverine in LOGAN has been received very positively. Many were skeptical that Hugh movies, if not from the superhero genre, will not succeed at the box office...but this movie seems to be the living proof that fans are now recognizing Hugh Jackman's overall talent and versatility!

Probably the same sentiment for people who only saw it on Digital format...or eventually on BluRay/DVD
Nothing can beat the brilliance of a cinema screening -- the wide and sharp screen projections, the color palette in sharp definition, the sounds especially the song and dance numbers, the clear views of the actor's faces and body language...all the little things that make theater-going still worth the while!
I will always treasure the viewing of The Greatest Showman on an IMAX screen!

For an instant, I was taken to that scene when Robert Angier acknowledged the applause of his audience (The Prestige)

A pop artist puts on the Barnum RingMaster outfit and begins to sing (@ 1'30") A MILLION DREAMS with his backup singers...
Then, they stop singing on stage... and the crowd picks up ( @ 3'00") and sings the rest of the song!
Incredible and touching!
