If I am thinking about the possible trip to the other side of the world ( for The Music Man) when vaccines and relaxation of travel restrictions have paved the way ( perception of a little less risk) -- does that describe my mood as MOOD #5 (The Other Side)

If there is anything that FOX did right re promoting The Greatest Showman --

it was simply releasing the 2 clips from the workshop!

as a singer (20 years classically trained) I can tell that his voice is at a point that he could sing at the drop of a hat. His technique is fantastic. I would not have any trouble believing he could pull off this performance without a worm up.

The energy in that room must've been absolutely magical. I'm tearing up. You can absolutely tell by the end of the video how visceral and special this take was. If you've never performed live music with people, most of the time a run-through is a run-through. But when the magic happens you -feel- it and makes music so very special. This is beautiful.

What people missed was this was from a PRIVATE session for FOX execs. It was only released ( together with Keala's This Is Me) right before the movie opened presumably because the early word on the movie was not good at all! That the movie and the album reaped totally unexpected success ( and what a success) - surprised everyone.

But if one could feel the feeling of celebration from the video of FROM NOW ON, then FOX realized that maybe this is one of the keys to promoting the movie successfully. Their instinct proved them right and released this rough video clip from the whole workshop session meant to secure the project greenlight.

Only Hugh and Keala ended up in the movie itself ( validated by the reaction to those 2 videos) but most of the rest (mainly Broadway actors/actresses) were part of the backups for the movie and the album. One of them (standing up and singing her heart out, next to Keala) has become famous now as a film star ( Cynthia Erivo) and another became slightly famous (Loren Allred - the lady with curly hair and red scarf) because she actually dubbed the voice of Rebecca Ferguson in Never Enough.

It must be the feeling of incredible JOY...that the show seems to bring to its audience...something that generates that feeling of awe when one was young...

and maybe this is the reason why children to this day continue to find the singing and the dancing in the movie to be very appealing

What a change - it used to be that young boys would romp around in their superhero costume... Now it is Jackman's character that they choose - not exactly Wolverine...but his relative, The Greatest Showman
