On the show Taken, they were talking about the bad guy: “He’s wanted for drug trafficking, contract killing, kidnapping and extortion.”
“Triple threat. Kind of like the Hugh Jackman of crime.”

Anybody catch “Will and Grace” the other evening? Will was looking at a photo of himself with his better-looking ex-fiancé and commented that the photo “looks like Hugh Jackman and his Uber driver.” (The ex had been played by Matt Bomer.)

Oops—I think you’re right that it was Jack rather than Will who said that line; I’d misremembered. Yes, I do recall HJ references on the original series: once when Jack accused Hugh of stealing his leg-over-leg “move” (in TBFO) and IIRC, a reference to “Huge Ackman.”

Anybody catch Jeopardy tonight? Hugh had his own category. Oddly enough, the contestants didn’t do so well with one of the first two supposedly easier “answers” yet aced the last three. The first two had to deal with Jean Valjean and the film Australia. The last three referenced PT Barnum, Van Helsing, and Blackbeard. Nothing about Wolverine; I guess they thought that would be too easy.

Looks like HJ is ramping up his guest appearances on talk shows (without studio audiences now for obvious reasons), probably to promote BAD EDUCATION'S bow on HBO on April 25:
Friday, April 17 Fallon/Tonight Show
Friday, April 24 Ellen/Ellen DeGeneres' show
My cable guide lists Fallon as new; not sure about "Ellen," but it's probably new.

Can he promote an HBO movie on those networks?
If he can, that would be great -- not just to promote the movie-turned-TV-attraction, but it may also ramp up his chances for an acting EMMY ( in case some voters are not aware that BAD EDUCATION is in competition)?

HJ’s interview on Corden late tonight was even better. Lots of topics covered: BAD ED, OKLAHOMA!, Broadway/MUSIC MAN, dancing in his living room,Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds, and showing HJ’s prize possession bread maker. Fun to see Deb in the background cleaning up stuff and getting the dogs together for a walk with Oscar and her.
