I also noticed how they were making Hugh look older, then later younger (which was really just his true self!) I had not read any of these Spoiler threads prior to watching the movie last night, and all I knew was that Hugh’s and Allison’s characters embezzled money from the school. Was pleasantly surprised that there was much more to the story than just that. I’m not really sure if Hugh’s performance would have gotten him an Oscar, but hopefully an Emmy!

I was more impressed with the juxtaposition of Frank Tassone's initial victorious walk and the imaginary final walk to the student assembly ( the scenes that framed the entire movie). I can't get over Hugh's facial expression and body language as he walked in prison for that imaginary and surreal walk to that student assembly hall. Did Tassone become a little crazy ? Or was that simply artistic licence from Cory Finley. He and that AVClub interviewer made much more of the contrasting walks ( with that charcoal drink in hand) as 2 very different experiences. I am more inclined to look at the beginning and ending screenshots as the real meat of this story. As I have earlier said, Tassone seemed more like the product of a dream that became blemished ( strongly) by corruption. Jo

Btw, the actress who plays Carol, the always-anxious MOM of the boy ( who could not pronounce A-C-C-E-L-E-R-A-T-E) was an original cast member of THE BOY FROM OZ in 2003/04. She is Stephanie Kurtzuba who was one of the trio members performing with Peter and was also an understudy in the role of Judy Garland.
But she is more involved in movies and TV these days.

Could someone post the extra scene from BE that was filmed, but left out of the movie? Hugh posted it on his Instagram. Thanks.

It is very disappointing that BAD EDUCATION will NOT qualify for Oscar consideration under the temporarily allowed changes by the AMPAS, which require that films originally released on VOD or streaming should have had a planned theatrical release ( which failed to happen) during the period when theaters remain closed in general. deadline.com/2020/04/oscars-major-changes-academy-awards-coronavirus-1202919950/The sale of the film rights distribution to HBO by those $$$-oriented producers was well-documented after the Toronto festival.
