I wonder if Hugh is now doing some related promo for BAD EDUCATION. Or was he simply invited to a film screening of another movie?
A film critic for Rotten Tomatoes and a film blogging site seemed to have had a very recent meeting ( or was it an interview?) with Hugh --
Hid didn't ( or did not want to ) answer me directly --

At last!!Hugh shares in his Instagram Stories ( last one in the series) that a TEASER drop is due out in a few hours ( it says "12 p et ") @ HBO!! www.instagram.com/stories/thehughjackman/Could the movie be screened in March, as rumored...or will it wait its turn for the inaugural offerings for HBO-MAX? Jo PS: JackmansLanding shares the photo from Hugh's Instagram stories -- I think this is the scene showing Frank Tassone with one of his endearing traits to the students - coaching them or sharing a book with them. He looks very charming here ( on the surface)

The teaser has been uploaded on YouTube --
There is an option to watch it on a full screen!

Hmmm, assuming he and the film are Emmy nominated, I wonder if HJ will attend the ceremony? If so, perhaps Scott Rudin will re-schedule that matinee.

IndieWire seems more certain about the awards campaign. Btw, the superb Indiewire review by top critic David Erlich was featured on the teaser. www.indiewire.com/2020/02/bad-education-hugh-jackman-hbo-teaser-1202212726/He's saying that having the movie released thru HBO ( with its global reach) will allow reaching a global audience than if the movie is given a theatrical release for indie-type movies. It also gives it excellent chances at the EMMYs. Hmmm... that is a good point there. It is also possible that had the movie been given a theatrical release and Hugh gets a nod, he would have faced very stiff competition particularly from Hollywood favorite Joaquin Phoenix for JOKER! Food for thought

If Hugh is nominated and actually wins -- what great publicity for The Music Man which won't have its Opening Night till October 15! Lol - what do I know Jo

Here's the Collider review, which presumably is the basis for Jeff Sneider's positive expectations of Hugh Jackman's acting ability. The review only gained a " B-" rating, but very praiseworthy of Hugh's portrayal.

The Reddit conversations are very positive - as some had seen it in Toronto. This is good, because sometimes the Reddit exchanges draw in a lot of participants...some of whom seem to have much credibility with other co-film buffs.

Just an observation --
April is not exactly/usually an exciting month for film releases. Also, except for any outstanding film finds at Sundance ad the Berlinale, it id likely that awards-conversations would have died down...
If Bad Education turns out to be a winner for HBO audiences -- it could be one of the most talked-about movie releases for the month. That augurs well not only for the expected streaming service release ( HBO-MAX, to be inaugurated in May), maybe for EMMY awards purposes... and if it is released on video ( BluRay/DVD), could also be a top seller.

www.newsday.com/entertainment/movies/bad-education-hbo-hugh-jackman-1.42038798There are side-by-side photos of Hugh Jackman and the man he personifies in Bad Education Frank Tassone. Some have commented that in some scenes, Hugh Jackman seemed to have aged a lot. I think they might have tried to make Hugh look older and less attractive ( look at that hairstyle) so there is at least a little similarity to Frank Tassone? They shouldn't let Hugh smile, though -- or all bets are off Jo

I remember some of the reviews from TIFF commenting on how Hugh "deglamorized" for the role and didn't let vanity interfere with unflattering close-up shots meant to approximate a much less attractive man. I recall noticing how they shaved Hugh's excellent eyebrows to make them resemble those of Tassone's and worrying needlessly that they wouldnt't grow back! www.newsday.com/entertainment/movies/bad-education-hbo-hugh-jackman-1.42038798There are side-by-side photos of Hugh Jackman and the man he personifies in Bad Education Frank Tassone. Another potential prominent award (although not considered in the same category as the 4-key awards of Oscar/Tony/Emmy/Grammy ( aka EGOT) are the popular Golden Globes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Globe_Awards
