Hollywood has more options than the theatre( Broadway).
Film releases can be rescheduled or even streamed. For theatrical plays and musicals - it will be hard to keep the production that is ready to go out of the stage indefinitely. The cast and crew will look for other means of work or other opportunities. The theatre may no longer be available.
Hope things become more hopeful in the near future... Music Man won't start previews till September but will start rehearsals in July. Hope this can go on as all planned.

Guess who the new majority owner of Tribeca Enterprises which owns the TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL is ?
Lupa Systems is owned by James Murdoch, one of the 2 Murdoch heirs who now operates his businesses and advocacies apart from the FOX remaning empire of his father and brother Lachlan.
He used to run 20th Century Fox with his brother before the buyout sale from Disney.
I wonder if he will be present for the premiere of BAD EDUCATION? The movie got a super prime schedule for its premiere -- at 8:00 pm on the first Saturday (April 18) of the festival!

I had a feeling the Tribeca festival would be either canceled or postponed. Truth be told, it's rather irresponsible to organize any mass gatherings of people at this time. They made the right call.

From Goldderby - early forecasting -- www.goldderby.com/article/2020/limited-series-movie-emmy-slugfest-watch-video/Excerpts -- Presumably not too many people ( critics and audience) have seen the movie, hence it is just coming up the prediction lists. Btw, the article is datelined March 7, 2020. One thing though, Bad Education was never intended or made for TV -- it is just how things went in terms of interest in the film distribution rights and what new priorities HBO has under the reorganized Warner Media. Hugh Jackman is now part of Indiewire's EMMY predictions for Best Actor in a Limited Series/TV Movie. www.indiewire.com/feature/emmy-2020-best-actor-limited-series-predictions-1202220216/The issue is whether performances in a limited series ( which shows the character in a series of different episodes) are comparable to one-time performances in a full feature? In the case of TV Movies, it is a separate category from Limited Series. Jo

The comparability is even more pronounced in the Best Actor category which does not distinguish between Limited Series and a Full Feature. The actor's performance is viewed in different lights in a Limited Series because there are different episodes involved whereas a movie sees him in only one light.
Hope they rewrite the categories now - not just for Bad Education ( which was not made for TV, in the first place) but also because many Hollywood actors are now working on projects which do not have general theatrical distribution. Signs of the times. Ironically, this was never intended for Bad Education, until $$$$ led those financier producers away from the proper channel to show the movie.
