If you’ve ever seen a production of THE THREEPENNY OPERA, you’d know it’s about the seamy underworld of broken lives, petty thieves, prostitutes and yes, remorseless murderers, such as Macheath. The original tempo of “Mack the Knife” as composed by Kurt Weill, needless to say, was not “swinging” as in the version Bobby Darin popularized decades later.

Check out Instagram Stories on his account.
The items from the # tmtmts Shop are now on sale - in time for Christmas gifts!
PS :The Christmas gift from Hugh that I really want... is an announcement of a BluRay/DVD release of the show itself!

It looks like it was a close knit group-- sharing performances & adventures on the road Unlike a theatre company where they basically just share performances... in a tour group especially one where the tour covers many countries and cities, there are added experiences as they travel from one place to another … and as they perform for different and more diverse audiences. The sound management system for the shows was impressive - given how large the performance arenas were!
You could hear every note and every word that Hugh et al sang or spoke! Or every click of tap dance shoes!

I don't remember seeing this clip from the O2 performance, featuring Robbie Williams!

More from the same uploader ( she seemed to have had an excellent seat at the O2, hence the clear images) --

Or every click of tap dance shoes! Jo The sound in Berlin was pretty bad, especially in the first half of the show. After the show I've overheard a few people complaining about the sound - so it wasn't only our impression. I've read that there were sound problems the day before in Hamburg too. And I've seen a few tweets from Dublin too about any sound problems there. Presumably it was only at the beginning of the tour and maybe also relative to the area where your seats were.

www.lightingandsoundamerica.com/news/story.asp?ID=-XRHWGLExcerpts -- Greg Wells produced the soundtrack album of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. I think he may have also helped secure the services of Ryan Lewis ( Macklemore & Lewis) to put together with Pasek & Paul the great Opening Number called The Greatest Show! Maybe for major performance arenas ( presumably the most iconic, too, such as the O2/MSG/HollywoodBowl/etc), it was much easier to produce the most fitting sound system to the concerts? Jo

More uploads - same October date.
Mirroring my favorite film portrayal from Hugh Jackman!
Drama ( facial and body language, the incredulity at the act of the Bishop, the tears in his eyes, the break in his voice, his expression as he realizes what the moment meant to him, his newfound strength to face life - from penitent to repentant to reformed life warrior!
Music ( from a sense of wonderment at the Bishop's kindness, his moment of redemption, his resolve into the future!) -- all embodied in a musical passage that used to be practically ignored in the stage version ( all the stage Valjeans were rushing this number, trying to outrun the revolving stage and trying to move into the next scene!
