He did do a song from Oklahoma! (the title song) during the tour. He reserved it for one of the O2 concerts in London. The reason was he had most of his original co-cast members singing the title song with him! He couldn't possibly reprise that for the rest of the tour. But what a lovely surprise -- a reunion right in front of the audience who might have been at the RNT or in its transfer to the Lyceum ( some of them who might have seen it when Oklahoma! played for a year in London). I did have a sentimental reason for wanting to hear any song from Oklahoma! - I had seen the show live in London in 1999 but did NOT know the lead ( all I remember was that he had a powerful voice and a commanding stage presence )... Also, Oklahoma! introduced him to the international market... and not known by too many -- the XMen producer Lauren Shuler Donner saw him in the show... which ultimately got him the Wolverine role. Screenwriter David Hayter shared that when Dougray Scott turned out to be unavailable (due to filming injury) to meet the filming deadline for the first XMen movie - it was Ms Donner who suggested that they try Hugh for the role. Eventually, she would produce all XMen movies with Hugh Jackman in it ( including Logan).
Btw, when I saw the show at Madison Square Garden - couldn't remember the specific performance of the 3 shows but I had been to all -- one of his guests was Mr. Ted Chapin who recently retired from the Rodgers&Hammerstein Organization which he headed for decades. IIRC, he was likely one of the key people who gave consent for Hugh to sing in the Carnegie Hall Concert version of CAROUSEL because it marked a centenary celebration in honor of Richard Rodgers. Presumably the late Mary Rodgers ( a composer in her own right and the mother of the composer of Light in the Piazza Adam Guettel) also gave her approval - she said that the RNT revival was the very best production of Oklahoma! that she had ever seen. The song that Hugh sang from one of the R&H musicals for the MSG performance was "BILLY'S SOLILOQUY" from CAROUSEL, as a tribute to his Dad, Chris Jackman.
Whoever was in charge must have worked on all the necessary clearances for all the songs he used in his music tour?
Hugh did change his repertoire during the tour. He dropped SOLILOQUY. He added a Broadway medley which included "New York, New York". In Australia, if I am not mistaken, he included "I Still Call Australia Home".
