Now we're seeing not just fans flying from other countries to watch Hugh perform --
but also repeat patronage after seeing the show for the first time!

She saw the show in Zurich, returned to her home in Germany, and from indications will be watching the show again on Tuesday at Mannheim, Germany! PS: I'm beginning to feel that my fly-to-NYC-to-see-Hugh is more normal now | Jo

PS: I'm beginning to feel that my fly-to-NYC-to-see-Hugh is more normal now | Jo She probably lives in South West Germany, somewhere between Zürich and Mannheim or near the border. Many people who live near the Swiss border quickly drive to Switzerland and vice versa too. It's a short distance and no big deal. Some people even work in Switzerland and commute every day from a German city near the border, where they live, to Switzerland to work. There are quite short distances. Mannheim and Zürich are only about 3 1/2 hours drive away, too. Zürich would have been the nearest of his concerts for me as well with an about 3 hours car drive, but I met up with an old friend in Berlin even though Berlin is twice as much away as Zürich.

So, I got a reply from the original poster This was my reply. She was trying to cheat ( she did not want to pay for a Meet&Greet but thought she could get away with it by simply showing up at the stagedoor way ahead of the show until Hugh shows up. Because she didn't get away with it, she is sore about it. I checked her photo and she seemed to be a woman between 30-40, so she is not a teenager who tries to put one over another if they can get away with it! I did not say this directly but simply gave the example of the BroadwayCares fundraising where Hugh is not supposed to sign anything not part of the fundraising items, except for show Playbills, or take selfies because of the Meet&Greet offers. Some women JO

Actually you can't buy any meet & greets for the concerts in Europe, you can only win these very few meet & greet tickets. The sort of overpriced so-called VIP tickets don't include any meet & greet and backstage passes.
But I agree with you about this woman. I understand she was disappointed, but her outrage is over the top and quite premature for an adult female - and pretty unfair towards Hugh. Perhaps he was in a hurry ... Or this woman just tries to stir things up and this incident was a little bit different than she claims. Whatever. Indeed, some people ... *eyeroll*

Jo covered the logical explanation for Hugh not engaging. But Hugh fanaticism brings out the worst in people sometimes. Often as much as he does, it’s never enough.
Time constraints and security issues are top of the list of reasons to move on.

Well, he WAS engaging with a few fans before and after a few European concerts.
I understand the disappointment of these waiting fans. It's human. No need to diss them. Yet this woman's behaviour is premature and over the top. I think we all agree on this.
I only pointed out that you can't buy any meet & greets for the European concerts! As I said, presumably he was in a hurry or had other good reasons to ignore these fans in Zürich - I only doubt it had anything to do with any possible prohibitions like on Broadway when he is doing any fundraising.

I must've missed something...where did this woman post this? So, I got a reply from the original poster This was my reply. Re that exchange with the Zurich fan -- this was the original post ( and my reply) which prodded me to reply to it) : That prompted the second exchange we had, which I had shared on this page. I have also wondered whether stagedoor behavior and expectations for pop concerts are different If you posted something like she did on a theatre site ( like BWW or ATC), it is likely that you will get a dressing down. Even pre-show attempts to see the actor is a NO-NO for theatre fans, because they say the actor may already be preparing mentally or emotionally for the role he is expected to play ( maybe especially for dramatic plays?). Depends on the actor's preference. EDIT: In this case, it is not farfetched that pre-show preparations are rigorous ( not just vocal warmups or dance warmups or whatever other things need to be rehearsed briefly again)and may preclude Hugh from spending time at the stagedoor before the show. After the show, he could be busy also meeting some guests ( I am assuming Roger&Mirka would be part of them, as Hugh had also sat on Roger's box with Mirka in a past tennis match) … Or wasn't there a time in TBFO when he had to de-ice an injured foot? It could be some physiotherapist sessions that need to be done? Ha - that sounds like his performance is as rigorous as Roger's playing could be - LOL!(End of EDIT) Hope there are no similar expectations from fans when his tour continues in the USA. PS: Btw, a few people actually cheered her original post, saying that " it is the job of the performer to meet fans at the stagedoor...and if the fans do not buy tickets, the seats will be vacant" Jo

Sorry for pressing, but still don't get where she posted it. Was it on an instagram comment thread? UPDATE --
I just checked the Instagram Post of Hugh where the readers response is printed.
It seems she has toned down her criticism but is now just expressing her disappointment. However, given that she has heard the same thing from their friends from Germany, maybe she should not have attempted to do the same thing in Zurich.
