Maybe we can share here our experience about our enthusiasm for the upcoming ( ha - it is previewing in September 2020) book musical revival here...the travails of ticket-buying...our expectations of the show...and other matters of interest of coming to NYC to be a part of this experience.
Personally, the landscape has changed on Hugh's widening fanbase and the Broadway competition.
*Since THE BOY FROM OZ, the fanbase for seeing Hugh perform in person has now widened :
***the impact of The Greatest Showman, appealing across age, gender, and borders.
***the impact of those who will have seen his upcoming Music Tour
***the usual musical theatre fans, from Broadway and other theatre enthusiasts. Of this, based on some posts on social media, it seems some of the older musical theatre enthusiasts are longing for a first-class revival of one of their longtime favorites. Brings back echoes of HELLO, DOLLY! ( also produced by Scott Rudin, the only EGOT producer if I am not mistaken... who promised to give us as lavish and as beautiful a production of THE MUSIC MAN revival!).
***the HighSchool or even College Musical performers/production staff involved in a previous amateur staging of the Musical
***the fans of the movie version
***some of his Wolverine fans may be missing him and decide that Wolverine in a musical may not be so bad after all … After all, Harold Hill is also a roguish hero in this musical.
*Dynamic pricing is now more prevalent on Broadway. There are also more secondary seller sites. Will pricing reach levels that it would seem everything is "dynamic"?
*Was the pricing for his Music Tour a taste of what is to come for this Broadway revival?
*Will see tour packages more prevalent for this? Group sales have been put on an earlier ticket sale priority. What is the usual number of tickets to qualify for group sales?
*How far in advance can we plan for this, personally-speaking?
