And to think this was one of the shortest filming jobs by Hugh. I think it only took about 2 months?

I came upon a twitter exchange -- *first tweeter said he thought the film was lousy. His favorite movie about Long Island is Goodfellas ( an excellent movie, but...) *the respondee said he agreed fully because he loves gangster movies Haha - I think many were lulled into thinking that since this is a crime story...that perhaps it will be a violent one...or at least a crime procedural in the style of at least Law and Order...or maybe even a shade of Godfather I guess some did not appreciate the social satire aspects ( which I thought was one of the major reasons why critics loved this film) -- something that bears upon how social and cultural mores drive personal goals. That someone like Tassone saw that and took advantage of it is THE story! Although in a way, Tassone was also fooling himself - thinking that since he " had discretionary authority" in his contract that his personal judgment would be good enough. Sadly, by abusing such authority, it led to his downfall and the loss of a lifelong dream ( shown only in that final surreal scene)! Although if one is familiar with corporate culture - some of the things happening in BAD EDUCATION are often sanctioned/allowed in the business enterprise ( all in the name of success of the business, all about raising stock prices). Spouse travelling with exec husband and not paying her share of expenses? Top execs using corporate jets when they could easily take commercial flights? Clothing allowance to represent the business well ( and designer gear, too). Lavish entertainment in the most expensive restaurants. Corporate tickets to first class seats in sports or entertainment events. The list is long. Maybe because he lived in NYC and imbibed a little of that business lifestyle culture, Frank Tassone's judgment became too self-serving! Jo

What a twist of fate -- to become the talk of the town not only because it deserved to be...but due to circumstances today.

And one has to view his career to include the theatre - as he is an excellent exponent of musicals and drama.

Which made you tear up somehow ?
Pam Glickin's world crashing down?
Frank Tassone's dream - what could have been?

Maybe not elegantly put -- but brings home the message. Hugh can act! Simply with facial expressions... together with some body language and a change in voice inflection!
