Here's the promised video from behind the scenes at Les Miserables. youtu.be/R-B7RBVbntMIf you look beyond Eddie's left arm at about :29 you'll see a familiar guy giving acting/getting shot & falling lessons to one of the boys. Love him! YouTube seems to have done a good job defending this from downloading. > If anyone figures it out let me know! ;D

It was a good thing I decided to take my beauty sleep and not wait for it, after the magic number was reached Although I had actually diminished my expectations even before it was uploaded - I did not think a small audience of 24601-plus will get treated to something as exciting as the teaser! Those moments would likely be left to the full theatrical trailer when it gets released! Plus maybe the laborious post-production has not been completed to give us the singing-ready trailer moments at this point? Maybe when Pitch Perfect arrives on wide release ( early October) But I really liked watching and re-watching Hugh in the background giving some acting tips to a newbie barricade boy! Jo

I know we have seen the set before ( in previous video clips from Hugh) --
but if you look closely -- the set is impressive. You can see Cafe Musain ( aka Cafe de les amis de l'ABC) on the right hand side, too. Plus details like that mattress shielding a window? Even the signages on Cafe Musain and adjacent building seem to carry the patina of age.
Is this where Valjean is singing Bring Him Home, before Marius gets wounded ?
And maybe a few other songs will be witnessed by this set -- *Little People? *A Little Fall of Rain? *Drink with Me? *Maybe even Turning? and all the long recitatives relating to the various battle confrontations?? And key dramatic scenes ( the unmasking of Javert, the confrontation between prisoner Javert and ex-prisoner Valjean, the skirmishes and final battle, and death on the barricade)?
It is different from the locale of the finale barricade ( shot at Greenwich).
But this cul-de-sac could be one of the most, if not the most important, set in the movie!

A tip from Narrows at IMDB -- a report from Deadline Hollywood in relation to Working Title's other period piece (Anna Karenina) -- www.deadline.com/2012/09/toronto-risky-new-version-of-anna-karenina-gets-standing-ovation-from-opening-night-crowd/#more-331999Quote: Bevan and partner Eric Fellner have also produced another 2012 Holiday biggie, Les Miserables, for Focus’ parent company Universal. ”The fact that they sang all the songs live [instead of pre-recording] is not only unprecendented, it makes a big difference,” Bevan says. They just showed it to the studio to great results, and Bevan says every actor from Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe on down deliver as do Cameron Mackintosh who was heavily involved in the production and a great asset to director Tom Hooper who is following up his Oscar winning work in The King’s Speech.Wow!! It must have been a cappella, since orchestrations will not be started until October 10. Hopefully, they are ahead of schedule and that this indicates Hooper has likely completed the first round of editing ( the next one, maybe with the orchestrations?)? Jo

Wow Jo! If the Studio heads are getting excited over seeing the incomplete scenes, how much more the finished product! December seems so far away and I'm dying to see this!

If you read the Variety article previously posted here -- www.variety.com/article/VR1118057986?refCatId=16Also, please scroll down to the last post -- Read more: ozalots.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=lesmisnews&action=display&thread=8&page=14#ixzz261INXqAuAnd now that we have some sort of latest development news, via Deadline Hollywood, that first article seemed to indicate that things were already going to plan. There have been some serious worries about the very tight post-production schedule, but it seems that aspect has been well-considered and are being executed well ( still more things to do, though). I just find both sources reassuring that the movie will be finished on time and with the artistic goals it had set out fully accomplished! My only regret -- I can only get to see the movie on January 16 :-[ ... but all things considered, I am quite optimistic and happy about further developments on the film project ( which I hope will be reported via sources like Variety, Deadline Hollywood, the LA Times or The Hollywood Reporter) Jo

ca.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idCABRE88915R20120910LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The final installment of "The Twilight Saga" is the most anticipated film this fall, and fans are hoping for Oscar glory for the adaptation of stage musical "Les Miserables", according to a survey by movie going destination website Fandango. According to the site's 2012 fall film survey released on Monday, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2," earned 32 percent of votes for "most anticipated fall movie" and 51 percent of the "best date night movie" votes. The survey polled more than 1,000 moviegoers. Based on Stephenie Meyer's novels about a young girl's torn affections between a vampire and a werewolf, the "Twilight" film series has grossed $2.5 billion at the global box office to date. "The 'Twilight' franchise has delivered some of the all-time top advance ticket sellers in Fandango's history, so it's not a huge surprise that moviegoers are most looking forward to the final installment," said Fandango Editor-in-Chief, Chuck Walton. "'Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2' is sure to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the fall season." "Breaking Dawn Part 2", the fifth movie in the series, will be released on November 16. If Fandango users were members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, then bring out the gold statuettes for the December release of "Les Miserables," starring Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe. The film, an adaptation of the hit stage musical based on Victor Hugo's classic novel, was voted by 49 percent of those questioned as the "film that could sweep the Oscars". "We caught a glimpse of 'Les Mis' stars Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman singing at the Oscars a few years ago, and clearly movie fans liked what they saw and are highly anticipating the film's December release," said Walton. And who says there is no such thing as bad publicity? Sixty one per cent of those surveyed said that Clint Eastwood's speech to an empty chair at the recent Republican National Convention, made them more interested in seeing the actor-director's upcoming baseball film, "Trouble With Curve". "Curve," which also stars Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake and John Goodman," is due out in the U.S. on September 21. The survey also saw Judd Apatow's "This is 40" (December 21) starring Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann as the funniest, and the Jennifer Lawrence horror film "House at the End of the Street," (September 21) as the scariest movies of the fall season. When it comes to individual actors, Daniel Day Lewis' performance in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" (November 16) was voted most anticipated, while Joaquin Phoenix's turn in "The Master" (September 21) was picked as the most welcome return to the screen. Just some thoughts on the survey results -- *People who have voted for Breaking Dawn as most anticipated could also be the same demos who voted for Les Miserables as best Oscar hopeful? Would Twilight fans be interested to see Les Miserables? Les Miserables probably has a lot of young women fans ( mostly wanting to be Eponine ) - are they the same demos who anticipate Breaking Dawn as favorite movie to come? *Would general moviegoers ( who may not be musicals or theatre fans or have not heard much about the Les Miserables musical) be enticed to see Les Miserables because it was voted as the most likely Oscar winner?? *The votes for Les Miserables must have been likley prompted by that 1'38" teaser trailer - maybe it was more impactful than we realized! *DDLewis is probably well-known -- but only 22% voted for his performance as most anticipated. I wonder how Hugh did in this survey? Do general moviegoers really know that Hugh can sing and act out musical theatre material? I hope if and when they see Les Miserables that they will be awestruck by such a compelling portrayal ( acting) and performance ( singing) by Hugh Jackman.

The musical Les Miserables, on the other hand, was chosen as the “Film that Could Sweep the Oscars,” while the comedy This is 40 was “The Movie Expected to Deliver the Biggest Laughs.” When it came to this season’s individual performances, fans chose Daniel Day-Lewis’ turn as Lincoln as the “Most Anticipated Performance of the Fall” and picked Joaquin Phoenix’s role in The Master as “The Most Welcome Return to the Screen.” Clint Eastwood also got some love (although it might not be the variety he sought) from Fandango users, who said his “empty chair” speech at the Republican National Convention made them more interested in his upcoming baseball flick “Trouble with the Curve.”. Another poster has come up - this one on the page of a Bangkok Calendar of Events for December 2012. The site advertises when the movie will be released ( Dec 20), how long ( 3 weeks) and what cineplex. www.bangkokeventscalendar.com/en/entertainment/les-miserablesBut I am not sure if this is an official poster or not -- It looks like an unofficial one but as if it was derived from the first official poster ( with its dominant maroon color). Interestingly, it does not include the names of Schonberg/Bo.blil/Kretzmer among the credits at the bottom of the poster. It does mention that it is released on DECEMBER 14TH. Maybe the main marketing unit of Universal or whoever is in charge should start unifying their promotional materials now -- it is only 3 months to go Jo

I'm so sorry Jo. It's been fun watching everything step by step, but this waiting is terrible I saw a picture on Ebay. One of the sellers was selling a picture of Woverine with Drew Barrymore. I just had to write him and ask him when Drew Barrymore was in Wolverine. I told him it was Halle Berry and he changed the post. Then he said it was worth a lot of money beacause of Halle Berry because "Hugh Jackman was sort of a washed up actor". Just wait till December, we'll see who's "washed Up". Can you see a difference betwen Halle Barry and Drew Barrymore? You know we have to be perfect when it comes to "Hugh".

Yes I know we are all fans of varying degrees, but you have to wonder about people who don't have a clue about the depth of talent of this man. It's like I just want Les Mis to come out so that he finally explodes on the consciousness of the dimwitted.

He will have his time soon. It's not soon enough for us. I have faith when December comes, when all the people that doubted him, they will have a rude awakening. And Hugh will get what he long time deserves. A great man, father, humanitarian, and an awesome triple threat.

A friend was visiting last week and I showed her the EW Fall movie preview featuring Les Mis. She turned to me and said, "He sings?" I was speechless! (a rare occurrence.) I immediately ushered her to my computer and showed her a few of the BOB clips. Then she was speechless - (also pretty rare.) Carol

We are going to see jaws dropping when people see LES MISERABLES --
*Can Wolverine really sing that good ( and for people who never saw The Fountain or The Prestige -- can Jackman really act that well?)??
*Can Russell Crowe sing?? And he is the frontman for a pop group??
*Can Anne Hathaway really look that unglamourous...and can she portray a non-princessly character?? And sing so poignantly, instead of that seemingly false gaiety in her Oscar hosting??
*Can Eddie Redmayne really have that glorious natural singing voice ( I think he will be the real revelation, vocally-speaking)?
*Can Amanda Seyfried really sing soprano ( she didn't sound that way in Mamma Mia!) and can she be a demure young lady unlike the exuberant daughter she played in MM?
*Can they have been only stage stars in the past - Aaron Tveit and Samantha Barks ( they seem to have adjusted to the film medium so well)??
*Can Helena Bonham Carter prove that she is a much better Mme Thenardier than she was Mme Lovett?
*Can Borat really sing - we know he can ham around - but if we hadn't see him as Pirelli in Sweeney Todd, we wouldn't have known??
*And those urchins ( Cosette and Gavroche aka Isabelle Allen and Daniel Huttlestone) - can they really be that natural, acting- and singing-wise ??
And for me --
Can this film be for real?? After waiting for 25 years to see it made?? And my favorite film and musical theatre actor in my favorite musical???
Do I really hear the people stars sing??? YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!

Anyone who can't tell the difference between Halle Berry & Drew Barrymore is a total jerk. Less than a year since Real Steel, he's in 3 films being released in the next 3 months, filming 2 films to be released next year, going back to Broadway after that & is considered an international super star. That guy's opinion of Hugh just reflects what an uninformed moron he is. I hope if people buy this poster they tell him they are buying it because of Hugh, which is most likely true! Too bad the jerk will end up making a lot of money in December if his business is selling posters! Irritating!

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!! JoIt's so nice to have company on the 25 year wait. I wanted a movie ever since hearing the score in 1985. To have it now with my favorite working actor/entertainer has me a wee bit giddier than is probably good for a senior citizen.
