Who sez The Music Man does not have memorable music? I wonder if people will start singing (not so) quietly once that famous song starts in the show? Hopefully, they will reprise it when the curtain falls (and real band music plays) at the end so we can all sing to our hearts' content Jo

If you are coming from somewhere a bit far ( especially from overseas) --
Arghh… travelling to NYC during one of its, if not the, busiest weeks (Thanksgiving to Rock Center tree-lighting) is going to be mighty expensive! Hotel prices are at its peak, if one can find something fairly close to The Music Man theatre ( presumably the Winter Garden on B'way/50th-51st). Airline flights are also going to be difficult to book even at this stage, with prices going up due to the Thanksgiving travelling. Maybe we should look up and pick our options now?

Someone created a site that illustrates in great detail a rated seating arrangement for The WinterGarden Theatre -- BUT -- it was created for Beetlejuice, the theatre's present occupant. You may want to use it as a GENERAL guide if and when you purchase your tickets - for whatever it's worth.Keep scrolling down as it has a lot of useful information, if you are particular about seats, co-relating it to pricing and comfort. blog.headout.com/winter-garden-theatre-seating-chart/Jo

I’m wondering whether they’re even selling those six or seven seats to the far side of mezz A30. Perhaps they are saving those for the lottery, but I can’t imagine you could see the whole stage from them. My experience at previous shows at the Winter Garden is that seats very much to the side in the mezz, from whatever row, blocked from view a good 25 percent of the stage.

Based on the current calendar for which they are selling tickets -- it looks like they are NOT selling tickets for a whole week in mid-March 2020 (March 15 to 21). Is that when Hugh goes on leave...and they may be opting not to do performances ( just like for TBFO) instead of getting an understudy or standby to perform for him? Or they have not yet decided on what to do?

Some BJuice fans called The Music Man a " tired and old-fashioned musical" .
But this comment on the BWW board puts the theme of the Meredith Willson into an appealing perspective --
Earlier a comment by the same BWW poster re TMM being a serious piece was questioned by another. His earlier response was : "And my own opinion- Dolly was filled with caricatures- and that always made it seem silly- Music Man is a much more thoughtful and serious piece, IMO."
