Just getting around to telling my story now, but I tested positive for Covid on Tuesday the 5th (Rapid Test) They also did the regular test which I should get the results today or tomorrow. Started off on Dec. 28th with a cough, but it was not a dry one, then progressed to head cold. No fever or shortness of breath. By the 2nd or 3rd I lost my sense of smell so I got an appointment online for the drive-up at our nearby health department (I had gone there last May when I had a cough, but was negative) Have no idea who I got it from. The week prior to the 25th I had only been around my mom, daughter, son-in-law and their baby. Then on the 25th there were 7 adults and the baby over for Christmas-none of them are sick. At this point it's been 11 days but am waiting until Jan.12th to take care of my granddaughter again. I just read that I might have immunity now from Covid for at least 3 months, but should still get the vaccine (I will!) Vaccine antibody levels far more substantial than those from actual COVID infection, particularly milder cases.

^ Yes, definitely! That is why I’ll get the vaccine as soon as they let me.

Thanks hughmanity! Tomorrow is my last day of quarantine. Today is my twins’ 34th birthday but won’t be able to see them. ☹️ Plus, my son developed cough & cold 4 days ago and got Covid test yesterday. He still has his sense of smell.

My son’s Covid test was negative! They listened to his lungs and thought he might have mild bronchitis, so gave him prescription for an antibiotic.

My son’s girlfriend was negative too. Now waiting for my kids’ dad’s results. My son went back to work today and said he isn’t coughing anymore. Said the antibiotic worked great!

The pandemic has exacerbated the mental health problem...as the problems it has brought on further provoke mentally-challenging conditions. Gus Worland and Hugh Jackman have also organized GOTCHA FOR LIFE to address this issue among male friends/acquaintances or any male needing attention ( although maybe I am wrong and it is also meant to reach women with similar issues).
PS: Not sure I can relate to the last part of Ryan's message as it relates to the health conditions at hand. Unless he is saying that a male bonding story could have helped address the issue? And maybe the Rashomon style ( same story being told by different people but from different viewpoints) could add to the interest.

Finally got my 90 year old mom an appointment for her 1st Covid shot (they make you an appointment for the 2nd one when you get the 1st) It is for the 10th at 2pm. Tried to get myself same appointment time (which showed as still available) but on the last page after clicking Submit it just kept buffering and wouldn’t go through! Even tried a different browser and same day at 2:15, but had same problem. All slots are filled now. Will have to try again next week. ☹️

Posted the detailed coverage of this development from BroadwayWorld under BROADWAY AND THE VIRUS.
It mentions in the BWW covering story that Gov Cuomo has suggested that testing will be done before performances. This will further accelerate the testing program and identify those with asymptomatic conditions, if they have not had any testing done yet.

Took mom for her 1st Covid shot yesterday. It was hot (70) and sunny out, but only had to stand in line outside for about 15 minutes (we got there early) It was so well organized - once we got inside the whole process only took about 50 minutes! They have it set up on the ground floor of the old Sears store. It timed out perfectly that she was able to get her injection from my former O.R. co-worker! My doctor told me to wait until March to get mine, so on the way home we stopped at Walgreens and I got the Tdap (Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertussis) vaccine he had called in the Rx for. You need one every 10 years.

The whole world may be in a tragic pandemic now - but maybe this is best time to send everyone the best health wishes and love on Valentine's Day!

Andrew Lloyd Webber wishes everyone HAPPY VALENTINE through his music. He is arguably the most prolific composer of love songs in the theatre. www.facebook.com/100044623320415/videos/220402736445964He ends the musical dialog with ' *Love Changes Everything! *All I Ask of You ( Phantom) Both are probably his most recognized love songs.

Not a Health Advisory per se -- but of great interest because the health crisis has spawned an economic meltdown. In fairly easy to understand terms ( according to the author ), as explained by BLOOMBERG.

You may have heard about Tiger Wood's horrific car accident. I was trying to get more details but most newscasts only summarize the bulletin.
Until I found this update from his good friend Rafa Nadal.

Apart from baking or zoom webinars, some have taken to plants as their focus during the pandemic, weather permitting.
NYTimes shares this gardener's thoughts ( spring doesn't to be around the corner...but maybe for those living in the warmer climes will find this interesting.
NYTimes invites Reader Comments --
so I did add some comments ( as gardens fascinate me -- I have been to the famous Giverny Gardens of Claude Monet in France twice...the enormous Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Gardens in the UK ...the famous Rose Gardens in Hershey, Penn.... as well as a Christmas season garden in Delaware near Winterthur...and during the Cherry Blossoms festival in Tokyo and Washington DC...as well as visiting England at the height of spring).
Erratum : "coax" not "coach" the plants...

It looks like the major effort to re-start the arts is taking shape -- There was a feature on CNN about the rising mental health issues with young adults. It said that of the young adults in France about 30% have entertained thoughts of suicide because of the artificial pandemic environment that young people have been dealt with. In this light, maybe the NY festival should include maybe a pop concert that they enjoy ( even if initially with a limited audience) but maybe streamed ? I also think open-air film screenings can be entertained ( Can the Little Island Ampitheatre host one) even with limited audiences? Maybe featuring films where the stories take place in New York ( Examples: Kate&Leopold or TheGreatestShowman or Bad Educatiom ). Watching films together reinforces the sense of community ( which we all sorely miss) -- and this can beld in many places, albeit with limited open-air audiences at first? Jo
