Nevaeh, you made my day with those Scoop photos!! Glad to know I'm not the only one who does not like Woody Allen. ;D And I KNEW there was a reason I didn't like Scarlett Johansen - she got to kiss Hugh in TWO movies!!

Thanks for the photos! I do like SCOOP - partly because I like Hugh and Scarlett Johansson and partly because it was filmed in London ( and I recognized a few landmarks). Btw, I do not know whether it was during the filming of SCOOP - it was June 2005... and I do remember two events that were reported later on : *Hugh and Deb saw "Guys and Dolls" at the West End with a party which included Scarlett Johansson. Guess who was starring onstage for Guys and Dolls?? It was Ewan McGregor, the shy accountant in DECEPTION *Also, it was reported in a long article in the defunct print movie magazine, Premiere -- that Hugh, Scarlett and Harvey Weinstein (yes, the famous Oscar campaigner, but who also happened to have produced/distributed Kate and Leopold) and some friends had attended dinner at the famous IVY restaurant at the West End. According to the account - Hugh and Scarlett kept singing show tunes all throughout dinner and Harvey complained that the two were singing for so long, they did not have time for dessert - LOL! Hugh and ScarJo were supposed to have started with Oklahoma!, then Guys and Dolls, and Carousel...she taught him a few numbers from Damn Yankees and he sang some songs from TBFO. They were supposed to have sung for two hours! Would have loved to have been seated next to them!!! I have been to the IVY once ( courtesy of a Brit friend who said it took her a month to get a reservation) and the seating is quite close together! I would not have been able to eat if those two were singing all those show tunes! Better than a concert at Royal Albert Hall ( the famous entertainment building seen in the background in SCOOP). Jo

Nancy, Jo and Barbara, I'm glad you enjoyed those shots (even though the movie itself wasn't that great, our Hughie was!) I do own this movie and I do watch it from time to time just to see him and his performance in it.

Jo Jo, I remember all of those events! And I think you and I would rather be "at" the table rather than seated next to them LOL! We'd be singing right along and joining in the fun. I also remember another very special event that happened at that time...for Hugh and Deb! They had to fly out to get their brand new baby girl, Ava Eliot! She was born July 2005.

I would be sighing too much if seated at their table -LOL!
Or even worse, I might be tempted to sing along or lip-synch ;D

Gotta say, I didn't mind Scoop too much, but this one...hmmmm....I just don't know. I preferred Scarlett in Matchpoint....(don't get me started about her performance in The Prestige. By the way - Did she not also kiss our Hugh in that one too?) As for Butter, from the clips I have seen and the portion of the script I read, I am not holding my breath.

Wanted to see BUTTER in a theater to boost the box office (even in a miniscule way), but it wasn't playing close by. So I ended up ordering it On Demand. Ellen Ellen, I wanted to do the same and boost the box office regarding "Butter", plus I enjoy the whole "cinema" experience when I first see one of Hugh's movies, but it wasn't even playing anywhere around here either! This must have been a "limited" limited release LOL! So we're going to have to go the same route you did to see it. Oh well. Renner, you are so right in that she DID kiss Hugh in "The Prestige" as well. I agree with you as she's not one of my favourite actresses either. She's more one dimensional to me and has a ways to go regarding her acting ability (at least in the films I've seen her in so far).

In the third of the SCOOP kiss photos above, Scarlett looks as though she is trying to suppress a laugh. Ellen

And, I can almost here Deb in the background yelling "CUT!" I know Deb said she was so glad that Woody got most of the kissing stuff in one take. ;D

The Wall St. Journal ran a positive review of “Butter” on Oct. 5. It’s not available online but the link below takes you to a clip from the movie and a couple of sentences from the critic, John Anderson (not the John Anderson who ran for president but I guess this one likes political satire, too.) live.wsj.com/video/film-review-butter/B494268E-4654-4811-B6E7-790E24651C48.html?KEYWORDS=%2522John+Anderson%2522#!B494268E-4654-4811-B6E7-790E24651C48ne The paper review begins by calling the movie “ultimately charming, occasionally hilarious and probably calorie-laden” and, while it doesn’t mention Hugh by name, it does praise the performances.
