Every day I check to see if anyone who has posted recently has a birthday. Yesterday, the 10th, I acknowledged hughmanity. Several views, no comments. The 11th was my birthday. Totally ignored. I’m not going to post any more birthday wishes. Why do we even have that function on this board anymore? There are basically only about 5 members who even log in at all. The only reason I still keep up with this forum is to hear the latest on Hugh and jo gives us 99.9% of that. I also have a PM thread with a member who chooses not to post, but we have become good friends. I’ve been a fan of Hugh’s since 2000 and began posting in the old forum in 2003 during previews for TBFO. It used to be fun back then. But we lost so many members once we moved over here. It’s sad. Sorry to be such a “Debbie Downer” but I didn’t have a good birthday. My mom has dementia and we did go out to dinner, but it’s not the same now. Luckily my daughter called me and 2 presents from Amazon arrived from her, and my son at least called me.

Nancy Nancy- I log on much less frequently than I used to and I look at the board a couple of times a week for the same reasons you do. I want you to know when I logged on today I saw you wished me a happy birthday. It brought a big smile to my face and it was appreciated. I haven’t checked the birthdays and didn’t know it was yours yesterday. Please accept my belated wishes and sorry it wasn’t the best one for you. Sympathies for your mom- I have been through that with loved ones- it is very difficult. Wishing you a good year ahead . Hughmanity

Hughmanity, Thanks so much for replying. I really appreciate it and your kind words. My mom is 92 now, but she was sharp as a tack until 2018 and has slowly gotten worse since then. She was even driving at age 91, but had 2 accidents (should have taken her keys away after the first one but the car was driveable) At least she can still take care of herself (showering, dressing, etc.) and does her own laundry. She lives at a senior living facility where they are fed 3 meals plus snacks and housekeeping cleans their apartments. I hired an in-house company to give her her AM and PM meds. Just taking it day-by-day and trying to keep her where she is rather than move her to a more expensive true assisted living facility.

It’s all I can do to keep up with the daily avalanche of mostly junk emails I receive, so I tend to log on less frequently than I used to. Sorry I missed your birthdays, Nancy and Humanity. Hope they were happy.

I know what you mean about the junk mail! I am constantly blocking ones that I get in my Inbox! I see you signed in every day though, Ellen. I guess you missed the part in my post where I said I did not have a very happy birthday, but thanks for the belated wishes.
