Ryan issued a statement saying that he is hoping the leaks do not spread around too much because it might lessen the enthusiasm for the movie. Hugh co-signed, with his own reservations about the title, and Shawn Levy agreed with them.

I wonder -- how was the security at the filming site? How did the paps learn about it? Or was there an internal leak about the locations?

But I also wonder -- are the leaks actually deliberate - they know that people are excited about the movie -- and the more leaks people think they have had access to, the more and more they get excited about the movie ??

It is really a very inexpensive and ( I think) very effective to publicize the movie -- which is some 7 1/2 months away ( July 26).

Personally, I don't mind Leaks ( spoiler or no spoiler)

He was noting how on-set photos were leaked which may or may not give away some key elements in the movie plot. So, he has added a few of his contributions ( not really from the movie).

Now I am seeing many fanart versions of invented spoilers - lol!

This will confuse the fandom... so they will now eagerly await the movie for what is real and what is not

I couldn't find the recent interview or quote from Hugh...

but it seems he said, upon being asked why he said that LOGAN was his sendoff to the Wolverine character, that " he outright lied!"...and " this project with Deadpool was a long time in the making".

I think he really meant it about the L0GAN sendoff message - he was hurting around that time before it was made because he was being written off as the main superhero in the XMen franchise (mainly by writer Simon Kinberg, especially starting with Apocalypse where he thought he would continue to have a major role, but was replaced by Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique)...he even sent out a "One Last Time" post!

Maybe during the pandemic and after Fox was sold to Disney, Ryan was trying to work out how his Deadpool series could be integrated into the MCU...but for a while he was being put off by Kevin Feige... Three years ago, he thought that if he could persuade Hugh to come back as Wolverine, it could work ... and it would be called "Wolviepool"

Okay, so maybe Ryan did approach Hugh about the idea? Maybe Hugh started rethinking his stance -- since it would not now be dominated by the Kinberg-led development of stories for the old franchise?

When he started to make up his mind --

I think that happened before TMM opened -- that was why Shawn's daughter became his shortlived PA. So communications/materials such as scripts can be exchanged, without anyone getting any wiser! That was probably why Ryan & Shawn were at Opening Night of TMM!

They thought about how and when the formal announcement would be made. Hugh used his August leave as the time of when he was supposed to have thought about it and finally said Yes! The famous video of "Sure, Ryan!" came out in September and broke the internet!

Ha - actors are supposed to lie because they always pretend to be somebody else. Lol - we should have known better

*When I met Hugh at the stagedoor of The River and asked him about Apocalypse, he gave the impression that he would be in it in a major way ( as leader of the XMen). But that did not happen...as Simon Kinberg started developing the franchise in a different direction, and even replacing Wolverine with Mystique as leader of the XMen. He also wrote the other succeeding XMen films which failed at the box office (like Dark Phoenix & The New Mutants)

*Then there was that incident at the parking lot when Hugh ran into Bryan Singer who was directing Apocalypse. I presumed Bryan apologized to Hugh for the change in the script. Eventually, he made up for it by creating that long cameo of Weapon X ( Wolverine while he was being experimented on) with Hugh facing Sophie Turner in that extra-long cameo scene! I think that mended the fences. Hugh even sent a special gift ( commissioned covers of XMen by the original art illustrator) to Bryan!

*But Hugh had already made up his mind. He worked with James Mangold on the concept for LOGAN, which would be his sendoff Wolverine movie... and it turned out to be both a critical and box office success! It became arguably the best-loved superhero movie that was also hailed by critics ( one of Hugh Jackman's best rated movies on Rotten Tomatoes)! Mangold even made a film noir version to honor it!

Deadpool 3 is poised to be a massive part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's future, with the film being the only blockbuster installment Marvel Studios is releasing in all of 2024. Production on the threequel was stalled for several months earlier this year due to the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA Hollywood strikes, before things started back up last month. According to Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy, that hiatus might have actually worked in the movie's favor, as it allowed him and franchise star Ryan Reynolds "time to get to know and think about" the story.

"We're happily back at work, and now that we know it's coming out next summer, we are working our asses off to make the best movie possible, and it's feeling good," Levy explained, before adding, "It does feel like we're back at it freshly and more deeply informed about what this movie wants to be."

Who Is in the Cast of Deadpool 3?
Deadpool 3 will star Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, and Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen in currently-unknown roles. Jennifer Garner will be reprising her role as Elektra.

"I think you're giving me too much credit," Reynolds explained in a previous interview with Collider. "I don't believe that I'm responsible for Hugh coming back. I always wanted Hugh to come back. My first meeting with Kevin Feige when Disney bought Fox years ago, maybe three years ago, or three and a half, four years ago, I'm not sure, was about doing a movie with the two of us, a Deadpool Wolverine movie. And that was not possible at the time. And then Hugh just happened to call at that perfect moment and express that he'd be interested in coming back and doing this one more time. And the contents of that conversation, I'll let Hugh, because I know it's only inevitable that you and Hugh are going to speak at some point soon, I'm sure. I'll let Hugh answer that on his own. But he expressed interest in coming back, and then it was my job to take that to Kevin Feige one more time and sell it."

Why Was Deadpool 3 Delayed?
As Levy explained in an interview earlier this fall, Deadpool 3 was halfway through production prior to the strike's work stoppage. Amid the strikes, Marvel Studios also paused production or pre-production on their upcoming films Thunderbolts and Blade, as well as their upcoming Wonder Man Disney+ series.

"Well, like the rest of our industry, or at least large swaths of it, we are paused. We were halfway through filming Deadpool, co-starring Wolverine. It was a joy every day, and that chemistry is, I have to say, spoiler alert, it is as relentlessly awesome as we had all hoped it would be," Levy revealed. "But we are halfway through filming, we shut down, our crew and the rest of us are awaiting a fair and equitable deal that ends these strikes and puts our industry and certainly inclusive of our movie back at work."

Deadpool 3 is currently scheduled to be released exclusively in theaters on July 26, 2024.
