Of course we don't know if that storyline is still the basic concept for the new movie?
But it seems it could still be a story of Wolverine travelling with Deadpool, whether on a mission or not, but turning the journey into a comedic escapade...or even adopting the Rashomon style of storytelling ( if that is the style of how the story evolves).
We've never really seen Wolverine in a buddy story or a comedic road trip. I trust Hugh's judgment that this will only add to the lore of Wolverine adventures.

Ryan isn't looking as muscular as Hugh - maybe because the charactrer of Deadpool is in full costume all the time?

I cannot understand why some are overly sentimental about LOGAN.
I like it well enough but it is not as impressive to me as LES MISERABLES. In one movie, a man goes through a dramatic human arc that starts when he was a convict to his final status as a respected town figure and even as a revolutionary. What we see within is his transformation as a man -- from the first epiphany of the grace of redemption to his eventual sacrifice for his daughter's sake. The story of a man who turned great.
LOGAN is simply the last episode of a story of a beloved superhero, strengths and badassery combined. But his story did not begin with LOGAN. His story in the movies started in that first cage fight and the first show of humanity with Rogue. All through the franchise, we have seen many facets of Wolverine's character.
LOGAN was the grand finale.
LOGAN in the first half is more like typical superhero movie fare. It is when the element of tragedy is introduced into the movie ( what happened to Prof Xavier when he was killed)...and then of course Wolverine's last hurrah ( his final fight and his dying moments). But the sadness that the death of Wolverine elicited was because Wolverine, from the very first XMen movie, has been a beloved figure. It is the culmination of the fans' regard for him since that first cage fight that has been nurtured over so many movies. What LOGAN added was the message of finding peace (because his badass side, represented by X-24 is now gone) ... and finding love ( because he finally realized how much he loved his daughter). Also, the parting with Prof Xavier represented another significant aspect of Wolverine's relationship with him - respect & love as a son. Those messages at the end were powerful -- but it was not all the product of the last movie. It is the culmination of the history of Wolverine, built from the first movie.
A few are wary that any new movie where Wolverine still lives will UNDO the beautiful end-message of LOGAN.
I do not agree -- if we see another side of Wolverine ( more heroics...or being comedic) - it will only add to our regard for this crazy mutant. From this new movie, we will likely love or regard better any further insight on his character. I am assuming that Shawn Levy will understand the dynamics between the fans of Wolverine and the sacrosanct image of the beloved mutant... and will enhance it. His beautiful ending for REAL STEEL seemed to indicate he understands human dynamics well... and can deliver the message in the film.
We know some rabid fans are pure comicbook fans -- but they have as much right to have some expectations of getting back Wolverine as any other.
Let's hope the filming goes well and deliver another memorable movie on our favorite mutant!

There's been some rumors going around on Twitter among the fanboys that due to the impending actors strike, that Deadpool 3 is now close to end-of-filming because it had started filming much earlier. A Deadline article about the impending strike by SAG-AFTRA was supposed to be the source. I have read the article several times - but it does not say so. It mentioned several film projects as wrapping things up before July to avoid any labor action. Deadpool is NOT among them. The only mention of Deadpool 3 is about the change in their original release date to one in May 2024. Unless the article was edited from a previous version. Many speculations as to when they may have started filming. Some even said as early as December 2022 - LOLOL! Some are very apprehensive that rushing this film will not be a good move, especially as it will include the return of Wolverine. I shared the link to Hugh's INSTAGRAM account (posts/reels/stories) to give a relative indication of where he has been since he closed The Music Man. Fortunately, Hugh is very open about where or what he is doing. I wonder if someone is feeding false information to some fans to create a negative impression of the movie. First, there was Mangold being critical or jealous or whatever... Now, rumors about the movie being rushed and completed within an impossible timeline. What's next?? How do we keep our cool Jo

Someone kindly tweeted me to say that Deadline edited a previous phrase ("nearly completed Deadpool 3") -- they should have made a correction and apologized for the mistake (because they have created a controversy among fans).

Is this a Eureka moment for me ... almost like an epiphany on discovering the unique appeal of Wolverine?
He was a hero out of Greek tragic theatre and Shakespearean tragedies. A truly romantic figure in any literary creation.
Mangold was lucky to have found a heroic/tragic character on whom he can put an elegant drama to how it all ends!
Does this discovery (of why with Logan it worked but not with Indy - Indiana Jones) lessen our perception of Mangold's imaginative & creative instincts to create dramatic endings?
He is even luckier that Hugh Jackman gives a perfect portrayal of Wolverine! All the traits vested in him, Hugh delivered richly as an actor. Had it been a less dramatically-appealing actor, would we all have teared & be shocked at the impact of Logan's final adventure?

There are actually some excellent character studies in the XMen franchise. Not just outlandish villains ( true for many superhero movies) but characters with interesting, sometimes dramatic, backgrounds.

That was always my understanding of Deadpool 3. They certainly wouldn’t have him running around with “Old Man Logan!” 😂 Nancy

Purely speculative...but in superhero movies, the fantasy sometimes happen.
A way to put Wolverine's role in this segment of superhero universe?

A lot of speculations that cameos will be seen of many former XMen ( or The Mutants) --
Let's identify them in this artistic rendering ( photos were likely splice?) --
*Deadpool ( without his mask) *young Prof Xavier ( bald head) *young Magneto *Beast *Storm *Cyclops *Young Beast?
