A new movie is being filmed, with the theme of Formula One racing as the background.
It stars Brad Pitt as a retired racing driver coming back to the grid together with a young teammate (played by a POC actor to invoke presumably a woke theme). Relatedly, it is being made with a former multiple world champion (Lewis Hamilton), the only POC champion-driver in the grid, as one of the film producers.
To add authenticity to the scenes, in yesterday's British Grand Prix, the two actors were allowed to stand next to the current leading driver ( and current champion, Max Verstappen. in blue overalls) at the opening ceremonial event. I think they were also allowed to join the formation lap ( I missed that) but with stunt drivers driving their F-2 cars made to look like F-1 cars, but peeled away as the real cars with real drivers tested their cars. Btw, the event was won by the current leading driver ( 6th straight win & 8th for the last 10 races).
Maybe to lend authenticity on how they would behave in their film cars, Brad and his co-star practiced with their made-up F-1 cars on the grid during practice day before the real cars had their turns. Vroooooommmmm!!!!
Some are questioning the authenticity of casting 59-yr old Pitt as an F-1 driver as the sports require major stamina ( as he has to undergo speed limits as high as 217 mph/ 350 kph and the neck-breaking downforce limits).
But movies have actors playing superheroes in other genres - so why ever not
