I’m honestly really happy with Marvel marketing Wolverine without marketing Wolverine.

We all know he’s in it. Save as much as possible for the theatrical experience.

A Hugh Jackman "only one Wolverine" fan --

For those of us unfamiliar with the trailer's environment & related characters... and have not seen Deadpool 1 & 2.

The official teaser for Deadpool 3 just dropped during the Super Bowl.

Officially titled Deadpool & Wolverine, the teaser opens with the birthday celebration of Deadpool a.k.a. Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) with guests from the previous Deadpool movies.


Members of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), the agency monitoring time introduced in the miniseries Loki, then appear on his doorstep to arrest him. (Deadpool time traveled a lot in Deadpool 2.)



A TVA authority then offers Deadpool “a chance to be a hero among heroes,” as he shows footage of Iron Man and Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor in Thor: Ragnarok, and Captain America in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, to which he salutes.

The next scenes show Deadpool in combat.



Wolverine, portrayed by fan-favorite Hugh Jackman in the past X-Men movies, only appears a few times in the teaser: in a white suit with his back turned with a focus on his unmistakable hairstyle, in a shadow with his claws out, and a split-second moment of him in his comic book yellow suit pulling Deadpool up.



The fire-manipulating character Pyro from X-Men 2 and X-Men: The Last Stand also appears.


Deadpool & Wolverine is the series’ first entry in the MCU. Rival studio 20th Century Fox was the original producer and distributor of the Deadpool and X-Men movies before Disney, Marvel’s parent company, purchased 20th Century Fox and the rights to the characters.

Deadpool 3 will hit US theaters on July 26.

On Sunday, Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy, 55, told PEOPLE that the actors are “electric” together onscreen as he teased what fans can expect from the upcoming sequel at the 76th annual DGA Awards in Los Angeles.

“I knew they were professionals. I knew they were the loveliest of gentlemen, but when you see them as Deadpool and Wolverine, something electric happens," said Levy of Reynolds and Jackman, who star opposite one another in the highly anticipated film.

“And you're in the presence of icons and even as their good buddy, that gave me a thrill many a day,” he continued, adding of the trio's friendship, “Hugh, Ryan and I are very good friends in real life. We spend a lot of time together in real life.”

I haven't seen the trailer for Deadpool/Wolverine yet but I am very sad that we can't let sleeping dogs lie. Logan was such a beautiful send-off and one of my favorite CBM's period, so to have Hugh Jackman return makes it feel like we can never have permanence in art.

Why are there films on the lives of persons when they were alive even if they have been portrayed as assassinated previously? Lincoln?
Wolverine had a very colorful life(living to such an old age). Despite LOGAN, why not a film on his other colorful adventures when he was alive?

Marvel Studios‘ Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, 24 hours after airing during the Super Bowl, was seen by 365 million online, making it the most viewed trailer of all time.

This beats the 24-hour viewership total for Sony/Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was seen by 255M.

If Mike Zeroh is credible ( for whatever it's worth) --

Hugh is still in a standoff position with Disney. Disney wants to tie him up to many other Wolverine projects ( which he thinks may not be practical) and they want to lower his paygrade, starting with Secret Wars.




As far as I am concerned, whatever makes Hugh happy and be left feeling that he has protected the integrity of the Wolverine character, I would go along with that. I think because of the seriousness of this subject, he is probably under direct advisement from Patrick Whitesell and Hugh's Legal team.

Let's hope for the best for Hugh!
