Plus of course the viewership of the SuperBowl. Some saw it only to be able to view the teaser-trailer of Deadpool&Wolverine!

What's different about all this -- unlike previous blockbusters where the marketing thrusts came only from one major source - the studio/major producer...
For Deadpool & Wolverine, it came from Marvel/ Ryan Reynolds/ Hugh Jackman, others -- with varying focus in their marketing spiels. Thus it was a collaborative effort to spread the word around.
I think the next major marketing surprise will be if and when they announce the sale of all kinds of related products. That is where Disney will make a killing!

The Marvel announcement said that it included all platforms to reach the 365 million stats.
Why not - it is a valid count, because there is almost certainty that the SuperBowl crowd saw it since it was aired or "dropped just before kickoff". Who is to say that if it did not have a Superbowl ad that it would not have dropped the trailer online later after the game... and be seen by the same crowd? This would be a fair assumption because of the similarity in the audience membership ( Football-loving SuperBowl crowd could also be superhero-loving fanboys?!).

If that was the first ad at the SuperBowl, I wonder if it paid more for the ad on a per second basis?
What happens when the next trailer is dropped, most likely online?
They would likely rationalize the difference as due to the SuperBowl audience in the first ad?
But the first trailer would have already done its job of attracting audiences. It is likely that the next trailer will now include many scenes with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine -- and that would trigger very strong interest as well --
*he was not shown at all in the first trailer ( just his shadow) *according to the Fandango survey, the superehero film audiences has pointed to Hugh Jackman as the top superhero they want to see in 2024.
