The premiere coverage was a little disappointing --

*the hosts outside Lincoln Center were not that familiar with the Wolverine side of the Fox franchise -- only knew about D-1 & D-2; the host outside near the street level was altogether not familiar at all with the subject. I think they focused too much on the sponsors of the premieres and the products on offer.

*they did not feature the interviews inside -- where the more popular media outlets were interviewing the key stars & creative and production team. Inside the key guests were also shown.

*the outside hosts missed interviewing Dafne Keen.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman suited up for the NYC premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine.”

“Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi spoke with the guys, who said they’re always nervous for the fan response, as well as Ryan’s kids’ reaction to the film.

It was a family affair for Ryan, who brought his children along.

His daughter James, 9, saw a rough cut before the premiere. He said, “She saw the roughest cut too. So many effects haven’t been done and all that stuff, but she just had the best [time] and they all have. They’re all kind of in love with Uncle Hughey over here, so that worked out pretty well. He got attacked by Betty backstage, who thinks she has claws.”

Hugh quipped, “She thinks I have healing powers, I think.”


Does Ryan’s wife Blake Lively appear in the movie as Lady Deadpool? He answered, “You will get every single answer about this movie that you ever want tonight.”

Ryan and Hugh were “in sync,” both wearing black suits and brooches for the big night.

Despite playing their iconic characters for years, they are “always” nervous about audience reactions to their films. Hugh said, “This is why we do it. We do it for them.”

Ryan added, “Our job is primarily to make hard things look easy… That’s kind of what we do here. You make hard things look easy for other people to enjoy.”

Though life isn’t easy for many, Ryan emphasized that making a movie to give “joy and audience delight is one of the best feelings on Earth.”

Hugh showed some love to Ryan, saying, “Ryan and our director Shawn (Levy) and co-producer, co-writers, those guys bled. These guys led from the front.”

Ryan praised Hugh, saying, “Huge was like a, you know, I sort of describe it as like a driving rod toward the good stuff and he really helped shape [things]. There were things he wanted to explore with the character that in 24 years, we’ve always wonder about but we get to answer in this movie.”

“Deadpool & Wolverine” is out July 26.
