We thought the London show will simply be an extension of his Radio City Music Hall concerts in 2025. It looks like while the show may actually be almost identical with the RCMH shows, the London show for Hugh Jackman will be a first for him. He will be performing at the annual BST Festival as a Headliner for 2025. The music festival is usually headlined by famous pop and rock stars. The audience can reach as many as 65,000 ( slightly larger than the Global Citizen Festival at Central Park)! Sounds formidable! Many are asking why Hugh Jackman ( whom most non-musical fans know as an actor, and mostly as Wolverine) would be a headliner for a music festival of pop music and rock stars. Many may have forgotten that he gave the opening number for THE BRITS - a celebration of pop music - with THE GREATEST SHOW. Hugh has also been a performer in his 2019 music tour TMTMTS at the O2 ( 6 sold out shows) and other GB performing halls. It will be a challenge to entertain over 60,000 people in an open-air concert but Hugh must be excited to be doing this. He is no stranger to the London stage... as his introduction to international audiences was in Oklahoma! which was a revival by the British Royal National Theatre, being in the role for a year. The UK loved The Greatest Showman. They were the first to have sing-along versions at the cinemas. Practically on a yearly basis, the movie is screened open air in the summers in large venues. Hugh also claims British citizenship... so why not entertain people in his parents's homeland? Jo

Interesting how many of his movies are now being filmed in England.
The first film he filmed in England was SCOOP
Then the second one was Les Miserables.
The Son was also partly filmed in England during the pandemic.
Deadpool & Wolverine was fully filmed in England - Disney now holds a long-term lease with Pinewood Studios ( expect other Marvel Studios films to film there)
He filmed Three Bags Full in England.
It is very likely that The Death of Robin Hood will be filmed in England, too.

Interesting that in all the publicity materials and writeups, his involvement in the revival of Oklahoma! in 1998-1999 is hardly mentioned, when that was the musical theatre project that proved to be the calling card for Hugh Jackman becoming a worldwide superstar. It was in the show that XMen producer Lauren Shuler Donner first saw his display of talent & charisma, which eventually led to to his casting as replacement Wolverine!
Of course that was more than 25 years ago -- but some still remember how he impressed theatre audiences then... and what a great and commanding stage presence he showed then. It is only fitting that this upcoming show seems to be emphasizing that it will be more of a theatre show, interspersed with some personal music favorites.
