Hugh Jackman's social media posts must be of the topmost variety -- fun, serious, recommendatory, self-effacing, issue-based, informative, teasing, etc.

He is putting his knowledge of mass communications to good use! And adapting to the modern age when it comes to how his public profile is viewed - direct to the consumer via consumer-friendly media.

Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Signs First-Look Deal With Paramount

Ryan Reynolds and his Maximum Effort Productions have signed a three-year first-look development deal with Paramount Pictures.

The move reteams the indefatigable actor with many of the key executives that formerly ran 20th Century Fox, Reynolds’ home studio of not just his previous deal but also the Deadpool movies that trampolined the actor to new heights of stardom.

Reynolds launched the banner in 2018 with George Dewey, a former exec in Fox’s digital theatrical marketing division.

No projects were announced, but the deal covers motion picture development for all Maximum Efforts projects, at all budget levels.


“Ryan is 100 percent committed to entertaining the audience and works tirelessly to do so,” said Emma Watts, Paramount’s motion picture group president, in a statement. “:His company is aptly named, and I’m thrilled to have Maximum Effort in the Paramount fold.”

Enthused Reynolds: “We are so happy the next chapter of Maximum Effort will be written at Paramount. The Deadpool movies would never have happened without Jim Gianopulos and Emma Watts and personally, I’ve come to rely on Emma’s incredible insights and instincts. Moviegoing deserves a comeback, and we’re excited to help make it happen with Jim, Emma and the rest of the Paramount team.”

Reynolds and Maximum Effort next have Free Guy, the long-awaited video game adventure made by Fox that Disney, after several delays due to the pandemic, will release Aug. 13. Maximum Effort recently wrapped production on The Adam Project, a time-travel action movie for Netflix in which Reynolds also stars.

Hmm... maybe a development project that may team Ryan up with Hugh in likely comedic fare? Paramount's Chairman/CEO Jim Gianopulos and Paramount President of Production Emma Watts, erstwhile FOX execs who supported the success of the Deadpool and Wolverine movies will likely be most supportive of a project proposal that will involve Hugh and Ryan!

From reports, it looks like a DEADPOOL 3 movie is not going to happen soon ( aka in development back burner) which was also substantiated by Kevin Feige saying they have many other projects that they have prioritized earlier.

Deadpool 3 cannot be transferred to Paramount because Disney now owns the rights to future sequels ( part of the sale of Fox assets to Disney).

So, it is likely that any Ryan-Hugh project will not be DEADPOOL 3 but another comedic strain that is built on the perception that these 2 are buddies at heart!


Hey, how about a comedic story of 2 buddy New Yorkers as they transverse the bleak world of the pandemic. Hopefully, people can start laughing at some human stories as the pandemic wanes more and more in the USA

Maybe a harebrained idea...but when Hugh tweeted that NYC-cop tweet directed to Ryan, it sounded to me that it would presage a potential future project from these faux-feuding buddies

Hugh! Why bother wearing a mask if you’re not going to cover your nose?!

Didn't CDC say that there is no need to wear one now, if one is fully vaccinated, and is in open air without too many people around?

It is likely Hugh has already gotten his second dose ( 3 weeks later for Pfizer/4 weeks later for Moderna) since he was first vaccinated on April 8 or earlier - date he posted his 1st vaccination.

Yes, they say you don’t have to wear one outside if not in crowd if you’re fully vaccinated. That’s part of why I said “why bother?” If you’re going to wear one, wear it properly, or not at all.
