Deb is going to be on the show "Can of Worms" October 1st at 8:30pm (in Australia). Here is a small piece of the show. It's all I could find for now. And, by the way, I'm an old fashioned girl too and agree with Deb's answer! www.youtube.com/watch?v=GG75Ol0TlcM

We probably should have a separate thread for Hugh interviews that do not relate to his professional work directly - but here is one that is more introspective: www.menshealth.com/best-life-magazine/hugh-jackman?fullpage=trueWe've read many of these thoughts before -- but the circumstances from which they sprung have not been discussed too much in the past. Re meeting his white which, Annie Semler, he updates with this recollection -- >>>Now he had a major choice to make: Realworld experience on a big-time TV show? Or hard-core, much-needed dramatic training (and in the back of his mind, perhaps angering the spirits)? “I agonized. But I made the choice to go to the drama school. I immediately rang up Annie because I didn’t know what would happen. I said, ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t follow your advice.’ And she said, ‘No, no, no. I didn’t say what was going to happen. I said a lot would happen. You’ve made the absolute perfect choice.”
He smiles. “I have to tell you, I was at Pinewood Studios last week, and Annie Semler was there. Annie always checks my aura whenever she sees me. And it’s crazy, but pretty much everything she’s told me has come true.”<<<Btw, Annie is married to Oscar-winning cinematographer, Dean Semler, who is currently filming Angelina Jolie's MALEFICENT at the Pinewood Studios. I wonder if she has updated her predictions for him Jo

Deb on "My Secret Life With Hugh" womansday.ninemsn.com.au/celebrityheadlines/8543537/deborra-lee-furness-my-secret-life-with-hugh"The world’s luckiest woman spills the beans on Spanx, Fifty Shades Of Grey and what she gets up to with her heart-throb hubby. She’s married to one of the sexiest men on the planet, but Deborra-lee Furness is just like the rest of us when it comes to surviving a blah day. “It’s OK for a chick to wear Spanx,” Deb revealed on Network Ten’s Can Of Worms. “I wouldn’t leave home without one!” Deb also admitted she wished she could have a superpower, saying, “ eat whatever I want and lose weight.” Hugh Jackman’s wife of 16 years didn’t hold back when faced with tough questions host Chrissie Swan threw at her. When asked whether she’s done a nudie run, Deb didn’t even blush.
“When I first started dating my husband he used to get off the tram [because] he was doing a theatrical show,” she remembers. “And the first night he came home I went to meet him at the tram stop and I just (mimics flashing breasts) – he nearly died.”
Mum to Oscar, 12, and Ava, 7, Deb also weighed in on the best-selling book Fifty Shades Of Grey. “It is complete fantasy, it is not reality,” she says. “Men have had porn forever and enjoyed it and women are doing the same thing.”
Read more about Deb and Hugh in this week's Woman’s Day on sale Monday October 8, 2012.

LOL, for years I've wished for that same superpower. I don't think it's ever going to happen for either of us. Of course, she does have a certain 6'- 2-1/2" compensation. No wonder Deb's been described as "ballsy." Love her upfront demeanor; how she speaks her mind. I wonder if their kids read those articles and if so, how they react. Ellen

Found this article in the Tenterfield Star: www.tenterfieldstar.com.au/story/571258/model-behaviour/?cs=38Jackman on iceIn the make-up trailer having his hair styled into Wolverine points, Hugh Jackman winces as he puts his foot in a bucket of ice. ''That's what happens when you do action movies when you're too old,'' he told S's Shelly Horton. ''Icing body parts becomes part of your life.'' How he has time to ice anything is beyond comprehension. Jackman is so busy with his brutal filming schedule, launching the Actors Centre Australia, supporting local live theatre, helping promote Russell James's book Nomad Two Worlds, being super-dad to Oscar and Ava, adoring husband to Deborra-lee Furness and getting up at 2am for protein shakes. Doesn't he sometimes just want to pull a doona over his head and hide? ''Who doesn't?'' he said. ''If anything, the thing I want the most is more time being a parent. If I did a straight nine-to-five job, I'd probably feel the same. But I am busy and I've always had that problem - I can't say no. I don't want to miss out.'' The couple also have to think of rebuilding, with their New York apartment ''completely destroyed'' by Hurricane Sandy, Furness told S at the launch of Nomad Two Worlds on Thursday night. Jackman is patron of the charity of the same name, but had to miss out due to a last-minute scheduling change. ''I'm devastated,'' he said. ''It's a project I'm passionate about. Nomads is about reconciliation and bringing cultures together in a social business sense.'' A percentage of the book's proceeds will be funnelled to art projects in indigenous communities. ''I like the idea of a hand up, not a hand-out.'' Jackman says his kids love being immersed in indigenous culture. Oscar has learnt to play the didgeridoo: ''He performed on stage with the didge players as part of my Broadway show. He played didge about 15 times out of 100 shows. The first time, I knew how scared he was and he looked at me and he said, 'Dad, I don't think I can do it,' and I said, 'You don't have to do it.' But he did, and someone in the front row of the New York audience leapt up and gave him a packet of Tim Tams. And I saw his face register, 'So I do this and I get paid in chocolate? This is awesome!' Which let's face it - I'd do it for Tim Tams, too. Just don't tell my agent.'' Has anyone else heard anything about their home in New York being destroyed?

No, I haven't, Neveah - but I'm going to look and see if I can find any verification for that! It would be horrible IF it's true!

Thanks! I've wondered how he has been coping with the backbreaking schedule --
"In the make-up trailer having his hair styled into Wolverine points, Hugh Jackman winces as he puts his foot in a bucket of ice. ''That's what happens when you do action movies when you're too old,'' he told S's Shelly Horton. ''Icing body parts becomes part of your life.''
During the last few months of TBFO-Broadway, he was suffering from some kind of hairline fracture on one of his feet and he was icing his foot before every performance.
Also, the more emerges from the details of the Les Miserables filming, one would think it was just singing and acting - it seems physical demands were also very high.
I hope his health holds up! And hope he takes it easy after PRISONERS and all the Oscar frenzy!
I have also wondered if their NYC apartment has been affected, seeing its riverside location by the Hudson --
"The couple also have to think of rebuilding, with their New York apartment ''completely destroyed'' by Hurricane Sandy, Furness told S at the launch of Nomad Two Worlds on Thursday night."
I wonder if the glass tower was completely left without its glass curtain walls...and all furnishings completely gutted. At least they were not there when the hurricane was in full force!
Hope everything turns out not as bad they seemed...and they will be back to their lovely place by the Hudson!

The Jean Georges restaurant on the ground floor of the Meier tower is officially temporarily closed " due to the storm", according to their official site.

My guess: windows shattered, leading to more damage. Gotta save battery power. 'Bye now; be well.

Was just e-mailing with my friend who lives in Hoboken - she's still without power or heat, since Monday night. She can see Hugh's building across the river from where she lives, and she said the buildings in that part of Manhattan are intact, so it's not the building itself that's destroyed. But the windows shattering and destroying furniture, etc., could be a possibility, sadly.

This isn't about the condition of the building now but just ran across this, in this morning's NY Times. "My Neighbor the Star.... "Jon Capobianco, a senior vice president of Corcoran, recalls representing the seller of a condo in one of the buildings designed by Richard Meier on Perry Street. A couple was waiting in the lobby to look at the apartment, and Hugh Jackman, who lives in the other one, “was just coming in to use the gym,” Mr. Capobianco said. “And the wife turned to the husband and said, ‘We’re buying this apartment.’ The husband said, ‘We haven’t seen it yet.’ And she said, ‘It doesn’t matter.’ ” Here's a link for the full article. www.nytimes.com/2012/11/04/realestate/in-new-york-stargazing-in-the-elevator.html?pagewanted=all

Regarding Hugh's home, I thought the same thing about the windows. For those who don't know, Hugh lives in a 3 floor Condo/Apartment overlooking the river. The "walls" to his place are completely glass, I believe, all the way around. It's very open. If these were smashed by flying debris or other, there is probably quite a bit of damage that's happened inside. Although it's a beautiful place with a beautiful view, its "openness" (as well as where it's situated by the river) leaves it very susceptible to any major storms. All that glass makes the home quite vulnerable.
I'm wondering if they'll now consider relocating in New York for safety of the kids?

You have to wonder if they didn't give him a great deal on the price to be sure of keeping the other condos sold.

Those are beautiful pictures but I can't imagine the amount of damage that must have been done to their apartment. That's a lot of glass. Whether they want to relocate or not, they may have to for a while Nevaeh. Repairing the walls will probably take some time. I'm just glad they weren't there during the storm and were safe and sound in Sydney.

Absolutely Jamie!!! 8-) I think our guy should get a cut when they sell one, don't you think? Every time they're showing a unit to a potential buyer(s), they just have to have Hugh walk through in his gym shorts and ....SOLD!!!

I posted the photos so that everyone could see just how much glass is surrounding their home. I too, am glad they were safe in Sydney! I know they'll definitely have to relocate for the time being, but I wonder if they'll consider selling this home in exchange for a safer one?

Er...the photos were available because at the time the triplex was being sold ( by Bill Joy, co-founder of technology firm Sun Microsystems), it was a listed property for viewing. It has never been occupied before they bought it.
Sorry, but we never published the photos on the TBFO board out of respect for the privacy of the Jackmans and also not to encourage any stalkers of their home, if I recall right.
This is a public forum -- maybe it would be a little less intrusive if we only cited a link?
