The critics are going to kill another terrific Broadway show, and it breaks my heart. Group of 6 went last night and LOVED this show. Audience buzz was strong (I love to eavesdrop when leaving the theater). As someone who sees almost everything on Broadway, I would encourage you to see this wonderful musical. Full disclosure: I am in no way affiliated with this show or any of the people that created it or are part of it. I just think it deserves a healthy run!

I agree with you!! I saw it about a month ago. Ellen has had great recommendations of shows for me to see when I go to NYC. I didn't know if I would enjoy it, but I really did. No, it's not the greatest thing I've ever seen on Broadway, but it is a good pick for right now. One of Hugh's dancers is even in the show, it that's a draw. It certainly deserves a run

Agree with Jackie. It's certainly not in the pantheon of great musicals, but there were things to like about it. The acting, singing (especially by McClure and Christiane Noll as Chaplin's mother), scenic design, costumes and overall concept were quite good; I just wish the score were more memorable. Interestingly, all the TalkinBroadway and BroadwayWorld yappers were predicting a quick, early demise following so-so reviews for the show itself while praising Rob McClure's star turn. Yet it recently announced plans for a cast recording and issued a new block of tickets through June. The producers were canny in hosting a series of special events that helped promote the show. The imminent onset of the the year-end holidays tourist season bodes well for one of the very few new musicals on Broadway.
